Just yesterday installed my Toyota Sirius radio in my Prius. Gets reception and the readouts on the multi-function display work fine.

Trouble is, there are only 17 channels! I called Sirius to verify that my subscription is not limited, and that I should receive ALL of the Sirius channels. I moved the antenna to the recommended spot.

Additionally, there is a 3 second lag in switching between stations. My former car also had a Sirius radio but it had only a 1/2 second lag to switch stations.

I'm stumped. Anybody have an idea as to why this would be so limited?

Sorry to ask a potentially 'dumb' question. Have you tried using the tuning knob on the radio and not the up and down buttons? At least on the XM version, navigation can be a bit confusing at first. The steering wheel buttons navigate the presets and the up / down buttons on the radio navigate within the selected genre, but the tuning knob scrolls through all channels. Best of luck with your endeavor.

First, where is the antenna? If it's on your dashboard, have it moved to the outside of your car. Makes a big difference in reception, which MIGHT help your 3-second delay.

As for the channels, if it's not navigation, sometimes the radios don't pick up all the channels when they activate - happened to me a couple times. Call in and ask them to reactivate your radio and that should take care of it.

What system did you go with?
    Factory, VIAS, Coasteltech?

Any of you can answer this one- how is the sound quality? does it rival a CD?
I am having a hard time waiting for the DEI setup to arrive. Not sure if it will be worth the wait or not. I did the dynomat, speakers & sub in the back......
Now I need good stuff to play :)

I have XM in my Prius and had Sirius in a previous vehicle. The sound quality of sat. radio is good but I don't think that it's as good as CD.
