    howdy all,

i just bought me a doggy bed [aka. huge pillow] to toss on my living room floor for comfy sitting... tag says it's got a polyester fill [despite other tag saying it's a poly/cedar fill]... anyhoo... the official contents/care tag also states "recommended for pet use only".

any ideas why it would be a bad idea for me to use the pillow, even though i don't have a pet?

    cheers!

Does it have a "new material only" tag? If not, the pet use only might be a way to get around the stuffed articles labelling/content laws.

probably some suffocation risk to infants/toddlers.

I bought such a pillow for one of my kids who was about 14 at the time for tv viewing comfort from the floor. We never had a problem with it. It was cordurory on one side and some type of nap on the other. As far as I know the kid loved it.

But it only had polyester fiberfill in it.

Don't know if yours has cedar chips in it. Some types of wood products have chemicals in them to keep the bugs from eating the wood, like fence materials; but I do not know about the cedar chips in the pillow unless it's to help absorb doggy odor.
