I would have liked the Prius to come already with these things... Of course some would be on package 5/6 Touring only.

    1-LED Rear sideview mirrors
    2-Sunroof/Moonroof
    3-Automatic Hatchback door opening system
4-A better Dash info speedometer system that doesnt look from the stoneage (like a 86 gmc my gramp's had, almost exactly the same) the one in the new civic looks much better, and more bright too
    5-Rear disk brakes
    6-Automatic seat adjustment
    7-Projector HID headlights
    8-LED Taillights
    9-And OMG auto locking doors.

    Share your opinion! :D

It is such an awesome car so these are not shortcomings, but rather things I would think make sense.

    1) Adjustable seats!/lumbar for petes sake :D
    2) Effective foglights
    3) LED interior bulbs throughout

    That's it!

3 - Not needed. The hatch opens from the outside and unlocks automatically.

4 - The Civic dash is flashier, but not better. The Prius speedo is a heads-up type display that puts only needed information out into the driver's field of view. This is much better than an ordinary display.

5 - Again, not needed and would add extra drag. The Prius does most of it's braking with the electric motors. The friction brakes are used very little.

7 - HID headlamps are included on better packages. Ours has them.

8 - The brake lights are LED. I assume you are talking about the position lights and turn signals. That would be nice. I'm all for LEDs.

9 - I don't need them, but others find them important. I like the little black lock buttons on the outside of the front doors and hatch.

    well, for
#3 i meant that you could press a button on beeper and it would fully open the door for you, not just unlock it
#4 aditional info would be nice, like rpm and a engine temperature i suppose. or maybe this could be included in the LCD screen.
#5 wouldnt it be a safer braking system if you had disk brakes?
#7 They are not projector, tho.. Projectors are much better and brighter than the HID bulbs that my prius has. everytime a car with those stand next to them i cant even see my own lights, because the projectors are brighter.
    #8 Yes, those.

Are you sure they're brighter? I mean projectors have a better focus than multi-reflector (HIDs) so maybe it's giving the illusion that it's brighter because the beam is better focused?

I know there's another thread somewhere but hey, I probably answered it 3 years ago lol.

    Here's my (updated?) wish list:

    - LED lights all around - indicators, taillight, reverse light, side markers/parking

    - dual-zone auto climate control

    - more seat adjustments (don't care if they're power or manual. Power is nice but they add weight)

    - power folding mirrors (the passenger side is hassle to fold)

    - better fabric covering the door armrests

Btw, you can get JDM Prius LED mirror indicators.

I agree to the Auto locking doors.... I know someone said there was a way to do them yourself, but I'd have to search.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy! I know I thought oif something the other day, but OOH.. a lock on the glove compartment!!!

The funny thing was that Toyota Canada had a locking glove box and a "key card type" SKS for the 2005 Prius. I was pretty happy until I found out both were bloopers :(

Interior back hatch release like trunk releases in most imports. Put it down with the gas cap release like in most Nissans. You cannot open the back hatch with the car running.I know why.....Toy didn't want people getting run over because they left the car in gear & got out. Make the "hey you left the car in gear and now you want to get out you idiot" chime really loud & obnoxious instead of its usual ding dong. Instead of a chime make it a loud scary buzz.

Auto locking doors. Put it in gear & they lock.

    Better sealing front windows.

    Temp gauge.

Put the average miles per gallon indication on the consumption page too instead of just on the engine/mg/batt power flow page.

    Lose the goofy rooftop antenna.

Better material for the dash. Hard to clean & condition and seem's like it will not age gracefully.

Maybe beef up the front lower suspension a little. The lower A frames are scary thin & tiny.

    That is all.

    Telescoping steering wheel.
    Seats that have more adjustments.
More displayed engine data like Scangauge or CAN view. The information is there. This is a fairly simple software solution with little upfront cost.

I think the reason you can't open the back when in ready mode is to stop thieves opening the back and helping themselves at traffic light stops. They could grab your shopping and be off before you get your seatbelt off.

Actually I didn't know it was locked when the system is on, I'll check that.

I think a flashing thing on the instrument display to let you know you are nearly out of fuel would be good.
    What's that, it has one?
    Who would have thunk it?
Rear side doors so there is no need to lay the front seat back forward.
    Oh it has them too?

    1. Touring Edition suspension should be the standard suspension. (I'm not necessarily looking to turn the car into a sports sedan. I just think it should handle as well as good handling compacts like the Mazda 3 or VW Rabbit (Golf), or better handling compacts like the Honda Civic or even the Toyota Matrix.)

    2. Fully adjustable front seats, including height adjustment, lumbar adjustment and a longer track to the rear. (e.g., IMO, there's no good reason why a driver or passenger between 6' and 6.5' shouldn't be able to adjust the seat properly --- they shouldn't have to be forced to make expensive aftermarket modifications.)

    3. Telescopic steering wheel. (For the same reasons as #2's fully adjustable front seats.)

    4. Sun/Moon roof.

    5. EV switch.

    6. Traction control that you can turn on or off.

    7. Radio antenna embedded in glass.

Yea, it stays locked, and you cant even open it if you have the smart key on you, you have to manually press the unlock button in the driver door and it unlocks.. pain in the nice person sometimes, but i guess its a good security feature so no one can open it when the car is in ready. Atleast it should open if it if you get close to it with the key.

That's assuming you locked the doors when you drive off (or only unlock the driver's side when you entered the car).

You CAN add auto-lock to the doors.. I did. Kicks in @ 15mph.
    Got a kit from CoastalTech.
