For some reason, I couldn't get text into the post along with the pic, so I'm following with a new post.

The photo was taken in January, in a little town called Ucluelet, on Vancouver Island, BC. The gull perched instead of pooping, which is a compliment to our new Prius!

Nice cars people! I especially like the gathering photo. I've never seen so many Prii in one place at one time. :)

    Hey Doc Willie:

I enjoyed reading the detailed piece on photographing cars. One part said to always use the highest resolution. My camera is only a 3.3 megapixel, but the high res shots would not upload to Prius chat. Only when I went back out and did them at low resolution did they then upload. Comments?

I think there is a difference between Resolution and Size. Shoot the photo at the highest resolution, then resize it to fit within the Prius Chat parameters. I find resizing to 640x480 to be sufficient.

The ones from the dealer cost 13.99 each!!! I went to Pep Boys (local car parts store) and found Mr Gasket's Chrome Center Dust Caps for $6.99 for a pair. I had to put a small bead of silicone around the flange because it didn't sit snugly.

If you are looking for the Toyota emblem, you will probably have to go to the stealer, I mean dealer. If you want black, spray paint them.

You are best off shooting at the highest resolution, then using computer software to reduce the resolution down to whatever it takes to be able to post.

If you are not going to manipulate the photo, or ever use it for anything else than posting to the web. then go ahead, use the low resolution if it works.

Proud owner of a 08 Prius, package #2, w/ tinted windows. Took possession on January 18, 2008. Currently 3087 miles on it - averaging 52.4!!!!! Just completed the first oil change and put 5W-30 Synthetic back in. No complaints yet and none anticipated!
