When I first got my dice unit, the iPod shut off when I turned off the car. I changed something I suppose, because it doesn't do it anymore. Whatever. I'm cool with it.

I noticed the same thing almost immediately when I upgraded to the Silverline. While it sounds like an easy workaround to turn off the stereo before you turn off the car, it's really not that simple.

The older dice unit would stop the iPod automatically whenever a call came in over Bluetooth. The Silverline doesn't seem to do that. While that's not a huge issue if I'm just listening to music, it does become a HUGE problem if I'm listening to either an audiobook or podcast (which I frequently do). By the time I've finished with my phone call, I've missed a large chunk of my program that now I've got to try to back it up to see what I've missed.

Is there anyone from Dice still monitoring these forums? Is this issue being looked at with a possible fix forthcoming? I know the Dice unit can do this, because the OLDER units did it perfectly.

Can anyone post photos of how the basic radio/CD interface looks like. Do you switch to CD to play the iPod. How does everyone mount this device. I visited the Dice website but the user manual is not Prius specific. Why don't they publish car model specific instructions. They have to test it on the car to verify it works. Thanks

I have done an installation video, but just got my upgrade on Tuesday, IT WORKS GOOD, very fast shipping on 2 days. I will post the installation video along with a tutorial as soon as I can get the final cuts recorded and edited.

Okay...A slight update on my last post. I did receive a call today while I was listening to a podcast. When the call came in, the Dice Silverline DID successfully pause the iPod and it did resume it properly when I hung up the phone. So that part of the operation seems to be working fine.

The only thing I've found buggy so far is that it does NOT stop the music/audiobook/podcast when you shut off the vehicle. I suspect this is just a small bug in the code on the Silverline. I have watched the iPod closely as I powered off the vehicle and I noticed that when you kill the power, the iPod will momentarily pause and then resume very fast. So it looks like it's TRYING to pause it, but for some reason resumes it too just as fast.

Ok here we go. I could go on for a long time about all the issues all of you are facing. However the easiest way to fix your complaints is to install a VAIS Technology SL2I and not only will you get far better sound quality but improved functionality out of your system as well. Your iPod will operate as it is supposed to. We only make products for Toyota and Lexus and we make sure that we always have the superior product on the market.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Now I'm certainly no expert here, and correct me if I'm wrong in this, but doesn't the Vais unit require the use of playlists? It was my understanding that you could not browse the iPod using Artist/Genre/Album. Seems to me that this is a severe limitation in the functionality compared to the Dice units. I'm not saying that the Dice is a "better" unit, with all the reliability issues they've had so far, but saying that the Vais unit will allow the iPod to function as it was supposed to seems to be stretching it a bit.

It does stop on my 2005, either with phone or power off.

I did notice that it seems to sync faster than before. I'd be on the 6th playlist in the 3rd song by the time it first synced up on the older DICE.
