I'm currently on a 2002 Prius, with just over 105,000, and no major
    problems.

Other than the standard recalls (and tires, etc.) the only problem I had
to deal with was a stuck seatbelt in the back seat (it wouldn't retract).

This is the first car i've ever had in which I've never had to replace the battery.....;)

Although I'm starting to lust after the 2007 Prius or Camry...

Funny, too, because he answered the first time back in April. :p
Had to have been all that driving!

    Almost,
I put 88k on my 04 with no major issues. It was actually getting better mileage (50mpg) then my new 06 (48mpg-now up to 51mpg after 13k).
My only issue was the AM radio reception and one rear wheel bearing(due to alignment problem from factory). I used Mobil 1 after 5k miles. Tires lasted 40k.

I just had my 2001 Prius serviced yesterday. At 135,000 miles! I needed new front brake pads, front tires and alignment, and a normal interval service. But besides that, the car is still solid, (well as solid as a classic Prius). :p

It's my daily HOV lane driver and has served me very well!

Was that the first time the brake pads had been replaced?

For what it's worth. I work at an auto auction and have only seen 5 Prius on the lot probably 04. Not too shabby. Most of the cars I drive for the auction are real Sh%*tboxes. FishHawk

My wife has a customer that purchased a new Prius this Feburary and now has 100,000 miles on it. She has had no problems with it and told my wife this week that if she ever does wear it out that she will definitely get another Prius.

Holy cow! 100K miles in less than 1 year? I'd be curious to know if the customer is still on the original brake pads and shoes.

Just hit 100k miles with my 2004 Prius. Bought it in May 2005. No major probs. Minimal maintenance. Best thing I ever bought. Only problem right now is smart key does not open driver door sometimes...

I just hit 122k on my 04. I now drive 35k miles a year. It's has never been to the dealer for service. I change the oil every 15-20k miles. 3 sets of tires and 3 air filters is the extent of the self service that I have given it. Still drives as good as the day I got it.

300K ??! But ... but ... Mr Spinela's dust to dust report said the Prius only goes 100K as opposed to Hummers that just keep going & going & going. I'm so confused :D

BTW, Holy antique threads ! ! ! How'd this nearly 3yr oldie get resurected.

Have an '04 with 115K miles. Received a software patch in late '04. Otherwise no problems - original brake pads, 2nd set of tires, oil changes every 5K miles. Use it primarily for long haul commuting. It has been a great car.

What kind of oil are you using? I think you should at least give your Prius 7K-10K oil change interval if not 5K. Why 15-20K miles?

From separate conversations, I understand that krousdb uses Mobil 1 0W20. On such a long run, it certainly seems wise to see if there is any TBN left :) We are working on him to get into used oil analyses, because these change intervals are unusually long for Prius.

I wish he'd do more air filters, but not the boss. Main point of the post was probably to indicate that Prius can be a *very* low-maint vehicle.

My '04 has over 102,000 miles and not one problem thus far. Regular oil changes (at 5 K miles) and that's it. MPG still averages 45 in combined driving like it has from the beginning. By far the most reliable and efficient vehicle I've ever owned.

[well, the 120 or 150 k or whatever it is hybrid system coverage is
    still in effect, in theory..]
    .
To be fair, not all of those miles are mine, as I got the car gently
used at about 13K, but it's still a milestone. It came right around the
I-93 x I-495 interchange north of Boston, not too far from where I saw
50K and 90K. With the car pulling 61.8 MPG average at half the tank
gone in weather probably averaging about 32F, it feels just nicely
broken in. Still plenty of meat on its second set of tires, and I am
*so* not worried about brake linings at this point.
