Recently got in an accident and need to have the rear bumper completely replaced. This means 2 stickers on the bumper also have to go.

Does anyone know if it's at all possible to have the stickers replaced? If not, what are my options? Can I still drive a carpool lane with just 1 sticker on my front bumper?

    HELP PLEASE!

Yes you can. You use the same form you used to get the stickers the first time around, and check the "replacement" box. I know the DMV has cracked down on replacement stickers requireing the old stickers to be sent back to get the new ones or a police report to have been filed showing that the stickers were stolen.

My guess is that you may be able to get them by showing a accident report and providing pictures. Then again, if the bumper is trashed anyway, why not just take all four stickers off, mail them to the DMV with the replacement app and wait for the new ones?

    Good luck.

Actually, the DMV requires all four stickers (unless stolen or unavailable through damage; in that case, you have to explain what happened in the form you send) and either a police report on the accident or the repair summary you get from the body shop or a copy of the DMV accident report (though why they ask for that if you have already sent it to the DMV, I don't know. Typical bureaucrats!). And an explanation of what happened. Oh, and a check for $8!

If you're missing anything, they'll kick it back and delay your receipt of new stickers.

DO NOT!! drive in the carpool lanes without the stickers, and do not drive there if you're missing stickers. You will be liable for a fine, and having the paperwork in the glove box won't save you from this. The stickers are necessary. They tell you not to use the lanes while waiting for replacements right on the form you send in.

I know all this because I recently went through it myself. I was stickerless from early October through December because I got my application kicked back for missing items and had to re-send in with all the stickers, not just the damaged ones, and the repair report.

If you have all the paperwork completed and send in all 4 stickers - how long does it take??

The bottom of front bumper got bumped and scraped so I want to plan on when to do this (to minimize the carpool impact).

I bought my Prius with the stickers on it. It came with the original carpool proof document.

Should I notify DMV and request for sticker replacement? because the proof is under the original owner's name & address.
