You don't need it - you can always locate your car with the nav system, or if you install XM or any satellite radio system the car can be located as well.

Lo-Jack also will not lower your insurance, at least here in Arizona... thieves already know how to disable it.

Plus, the Prius is just too hard to steal.

My Lo Jack was $695 for basic and the dealership paid the additional $300.00 for the early warning system, mucho mas thanks to my salesman, Howard Ritter at Crown Toyota of Ontario, CA.

I do not have the navigational system and have no garage, I have to park my car on the street, so it really does give me great peace of mind. I don't care how hard it is to steal, I don't want to take any chances.

FYI, Lo Jack DOES lower your insurance rates significantly in California.

XM or Sirius can not track you where you are.

Plus GPS sats need three sats to get a lock on where you are four to get a 3D lock.

And a nav system can not tell anyone where you are with out a data trasmitting system to trasmit a signal to another source to track you.

My dealer (Santa Monica Toyota) makes you take the Lojack and some paint.rust treatment. The total cost was about $1200. Still cheaper than alot of other dealers in SoCal who are charging 3-5K over list.

My dealer. Manhattan Beach (CA) Toyota, charged around $750 for Lo-Jack. No markup on the car, either.

Mine came free in my 2002's loan agreement, since it was a six-year plan. They also had it installed at the dealer on a day that their installers came in.

This was from Hudson Toyota in Jersey City, NJ.
