Well I know hippie-chicks dig it, and man do I love them hippie-chicks (married one). But I will contend that there are really only a few ways to meet women

    1. Through a friend or family member.
    2. As one of your friends that develops into romance.
    3. Randomly (bar, online dating, whatever).

1 and 2 generally could care less what you drive or if you drive. #3 is basically dating an absolute stranger. In that situation both members are trying to get as much information about the other through as many ways possible. So first impressions matter. If #3 is a hippie-chick your in, if she's not, then it's hit or miss. Now if your already established (20-30 something) and your choice is between a Prius and a Porche, here's a simply middle ground.

    1. Buy a Prius
    2. Each weekend rent a Porche to take her out to dinner and a Harley to take her to the park.
    3. Rest of the week drive the Prius.

Now you've proven that you are solvent enough to drive a Harley and a Porche, and that your wise enough to know how futile the continued production of those vehicles may be. The cool part is the cost to buy a prius + renting bling is still lower than buying bling.

I like Sam for her Prius and the standard 10 pitch Arial font she uses that is indistinguishable from everone else's. Maybe it isn't the size of the font but how she uses it?;)

And there we have it. After many pages of replies and numerous posts, the answer to the OP's question is revealed....

All men want to date Sam and Sam has expressed that she LOVES men that drive a Prius.

As if!! :dizzy: Behold the powers of the tonneau cover... It's all your fault then, Boo, that I have become the Prius Ho...

At last, we FINALLY understand what men really want. They want a woman who is hot for their car. After all the dating, all the confusion, all the searching for clues - at last - the truth is upon us, right here in this thread! [That would sound really good in your best Captain Kirk or Rod Serling voice.]

In hindsight, this was fairly apparent in the very first post.

Seriously, though, what an interesting thread - so many different perspectives, a lot of thoughtful discussion about dating, etc., and even some silliness. Just more gifts from the Prius...:hail: Behold the Prius! Peace to Daniel!

hee hee...I really should NOT drink wine...
So glad the weekend is here, though. Happy Friday, everybody! :D

See? Tom & Ray Magliazzi are right -- Car talk always does degenerate into dating talk ...

Now, i wonder if there are any car-couples who are the automotive equivalent of James Carville & Mary Matalin -- Could there be any Prius-Hummer households out there ... who would admit it ?:spy:

well, i for one will tell you... the type of car you drive DOES make a difference. i was single and attracting no one even when i tried.... well got my Pri, had someone pursue me for 6 months, i resisted (the age difference made me hesitant, but eventually i relented), but she finally won me over.

now that we have been together, she now drives the Pri and has stopped talking to me!! (ok, that last part aint true)

Funny. For some reason the lyrics of a country song started going thru my head instead of Captain Kirk's voice - "she thinks my tractor's sexy, it really turns her on. She's staring at me, while I'm chugging along".

So there's room for everybody. My wife wasn't put off by my initial economical (cheap) car choice, and years later she actually suggested I get the Prius. So while I doubt she ever loved me for my car, she loved me enough to know the car I wanted, and at the right time tell me to go get it.

[Then I started daydreaming back to a memory of a girl in high school driving a farm tractor past me on the road on a warm summer day (no flannel shirt, just a t-shirt). She was built like a brick sh*thouse (which I always thought was the weirdest compliment) and with the simple suspension of a tractor seat, the driver gets these long slow bounces.... Ah, just a memory. My wife won't tell me to go get that!]

So if a tractor can be sexy, any vehicle where the radio can keep playing long after you "run out of gas" someplace remote ("hey, the engine quit") has got to be good for dates. Several features have been built for low resistance, you can pull a surprise out of the hidden front compartment, and you gotta love the keyless entry if you have the right fob. :D

I didn't read all the replies but my thought is men that drive hummers & the like have little, tiny weenies so men that drive Prius' must be hung like a donkey!

What was the line given by Mary Kay Place in "The Big Chill"?
Something like "I've been dating for 10/15/20... years?" ;)
