Some states limit the number of additional lights that can be on at any one time to just 1 set (in addition to the low beams). (Low Beam + either Fog/Driving lights OR High Beam).

Unfortunately, these changes are not for the DIY'er. :ballchain: You need to have a Toyota dealer make the adjustments.:noidea:

Oh, BTW, the TCH "manuals" or also horrible!

Only real complaint I have is the Gas Gauge. I have an early 04, and effectively have a 7 gallon gas tank, which is very frustrating.

Owned an 08 for three months now. The biggest complaint would be the dimly lit steering wheel controls. Other than that I've been extremely happy. I agree with the gas bladder complaints. My fill-ups have fluctuated 2.5 gallons at times which I guess is highly dependent upon the weather. Why a bladder and not a tank? Is it a weight thing?

Safety...gas vapors are more explosive than gas in the liquid form.

    I don't think it's safety, I think it's to reduce emissions.

I have 2 complaints that are just comfort and ease of use things.

1: How about a better front seat with more leg room and a seat that can be moved up or down, heated would be nce too.

2: Why can't the rear window wiper be pushed up (like front window wipers), and stay up, during cleaning? Just would be nice.

    Eco-chic,

Go over to Auto-Mat in Hicksville. 69 Hazel St., Hicksville, NY. 516 938-7373. They are auto interior specialists and can do any kind of modification!

I am having a rear cover intstalled over the back surface of the center console because I place equipment on the floor in the back and I want to protect the back surface of the center console. It is getting scratched up.

I see that some of you have problems with the fabric on the center front armrest, does anyone have this problem with the factory installed leather? Does the leather on the armrest feel substantial?

It can. You have to remove the retaining clip if you want it to do that. Just make sure you don't go through an automatic car wash if you do.

My biggest gripe was the yucky rubber/plastic steering wheel of my package #3 2008. I finally remedied this situation with a Wheelskin steering wheel cover.

If you never do any other mod to your car this is one thing you would not regret. The difference is AMAZING!!!

BTW, what are those triangular windows on the Prius for? Are they for design or serve a purpose?

I read somewhere that they made it that way to provide additional support for the roof in the event of a roll over.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry if this is a repeat but,

    1. The cap on the 12v outlet broke off on me the 1st week of ownership.
    2. Cruise control "set" indicator would be nice.

Other than these, I love this car!

The material on my leather seats/interior added by Toyota Distribution center armrest is a vinyl cap over the fabric. I don't know if this holds true for Leather installed in Japan. It is substantial though.
