When attempting to put a new stereo in my 08 Prius today I screwed up very early on. When attempting to remove the left hand side panel that contains the air condition vent a few clips broke off. I have looked at several parts sites and found nothing even close as far as replacement parts for the dash goes. Anyone have any advice short of me going to my dealer parts guy and asking him? I am looking to replace the entire plate. You will notice on this pdf on page 3 example A. It shows a panel being removed. thats the panel I want. Any help we be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've never bought replacement dash parts so can't help you there, but if the part is still in one piece maybe you can use velcro to secure it?

Try calling a few local salvage yards... you never know, they might have a Prius.

Interestingly, uh, *sparse* install guide PDF. No mention of
proper technique on pulling the panels to avoid breaking the
    tabs.
    .
I'll bet Steve at Autobeyours could dig up a couple of dash
    parts for you, though...

It happens to people who temper with thier vehicles.... me included.
I sometimes use Gorilla Glue to clue the broken clips back together.
It is the strongest glue I know that works for plastic tabs, clips, etc. that
    require very strong bonding.

Just in case, you can't find the replacement parts.:(

LOL! I'm not sure whether you meant to say "tamper" or not. :D

Much appreciated everybody. I will be sure to post some of the part numbers for the dash if I can find them. I will post my progress. I have put aftermarket stereos in several of my cars and never found a more difficult to dash to dissassemble. I did find a much better pdf for anyone looking to do any aftermarket stereo installs on their vehicles. It's fun to look at in general.

If anyone does find one of these let me know. I am looking for the inner passenger side vent for my car.

Well, I found the part. Unforunately is about $190.00. Looks like I will be getting out the gorilla glue. To replace most of the panels on the dash it costs over $600.00. I had the parts guy make me up a quote to replace every panel. Ouch.

I have had my MFD out and recently took the drivers side of the dash apart since to install my GPS mount. I did break a loop thing off the lower dash panel but it doesn't make any difference.

Have you ever changed a heater core in a KB Ford Laser? The Prius dash is easy to pull apart, trust me.
