I replaced my 01 4-Runner with an 07 Prius two weeks ago today. The 4-Runner was one of the nicest vehicles I've owned but it just didn't make sense as a daily driver anymore. After 15 years driving trucks, it's nice to be back in a car again and not lumbering around all the time.
I'm very pleased with the Prius so far. I'm sure I'll be missing the 4WD when the snow starts flying again next winter but I'll just have to adjust my driving habits.

    My 2008 Prius Touring #3 (Sliver) replaces a 2005 Volvo XC-70 Wagon.
The latter got 19mpg and had less passenger space (particularly in the back).
I'm averaging 43mpg in the Prius - while driving it like I stole it :)
I put a TRD emblem on the back of mine to improve performance ;-)

This was just before the Prius. Prius certainly improves the miles per gallon:)

1998 VW Jetta. I liked this car, and it was nice to drive. When it worked. It has over 90K miles now and the check engine light has been on for 2 weeks. The last time this happened was October and left $1400 poorer. I realize now it's not worth repairing anymore, plus it was about 23 MPG, which isn't that great. My commute is 3 miles city driving. The Prius was a natural choice.

I will be parting with a 2006 Toyota 4Runner Limited, I love the 4Runner, but I hate getting 15 MPG.

Still trying to get used to the size. 90% of the time I drive by myself and without any type of cargo. My wife has a Honda Oddysey that we can use for family trips where we need the space.

I do miss my Expedition sometimes, but my last fill up on the Prius, barely $30.00 for over 500 miles on the tank, made me feel a lot better. That would have cost me over $100.00 on the Expedition.

Hey, Prius is a great car, but more passenger space than XC70? Conduct an experiment - take two friends and seat together in the back seat of Prius. Then move to XC70 and see whether they will ever want to move back with you into Prius:D. I agree - 19MPG sucks. The highway mileage is much better though...

Replacing a 2005 Ford Falcon XR8. Starting to feel a bit like an environmental terrorist driving it, since I mainly drive it to and from work on my own. It gets reasonable economy, given that it's a 5.4L V8 (about 12.3L/100km - or 19MPG plus change) but I think that I can do better. It's great fun to drive and I love it, but just a touch too extravagant and fuel isn't getting any cheaper.

A loaded 2005 Nissan Armada LE 4x4. Loved the truck, but I drive over 2000 miles per month and the idea that I was supporting terrorism by buying so much gas was killing me. Now I am giving the Earth a great big hug, while flipping Bin Laden the middle finger.

For a variety of reasons I thank each and every one of you who traded in a gas guzzler for your Prius. Regardless of your reasons I still thank you! :)

I ordered a 2008 Barcelona Red Metallic Prius (Package 3) 2 days ago. According to the dealer we should have it in 10 to 14 days. It will replace my 2005 PT Cruiser Limited Edition turbo. The PT has been a great car but 19.5 mpg in town & a maximum of 24 mpg on trips was, in my opinion, poor for a 2.4L 4 cylinder car.

My 2006 Prius replaced a 1978 Toyota Corolla wagon with over 200K miles. It hadn't been running for a year or two and we managed with a single car during that time.
