I just got this for Christmas and I'm not sure and a little intimidated about installing the antenna. I also am curious as to where folks are putting the receiver so it doesn't obstruct your view and you don't have cords going all over the place. Thanks!

Having done the integrated XM solution, I can tell you that running the antenna wiring through the door threshold is an easy way to hide away all of that wiring while working it back to the hatch area.
After getting there you can then feed the antenna wire up behind the back seat adjacent to the battery fan cover and work it behind the carpeted wall covering the passenger side rear fender. From that point, you can run it inside the plastic moulding along the hatch rubber weatherstipping to the top to get it outside. Have fun!

I had a Sirius reciever installed in my 04 Prius. It is a JVC model with a suction cup mounted radio holder. I opened the drawer which is in front of the center console. I placed a small piece of 1/8" glass in the bottom of the drawer with double stick tape. The suction cup mounts very securely to the glass and the radio sits up nicely between the console and the dash with the drawer open. Reciever plugs into the electric socket.
Works great and install by Best Buy was 20.00.

Thanks for the great tips ethan & randalla! Is the magnetic antenna meant to stay outside the car permanently? Where did you folks put it once outside the car?

    Thanks again.

I believe that the antenna cable that Jon] Priusxm supplied with his XM radio kit is originally intended for the Toyota Solara. the cable is not long enough for the magnetic antenna to be centered in line with the FM antenna. Running the antenna cable from the tuner which is mounted in the right rear fenderwell, it extends far enough to mount the magnetic antenna on the roof just above the upper right corner of the hatch and stays there permanently.

Take a look at my album for picutres of where my installer mounted my Sirius antenna. Its located on the front edge of the roof. I'm guessing that the wire enters the cabin through the firewall somewhere, but I'm not sure as I didn't watch the process.
