When using bluetooth in my '04 there is a 1-1.5 second delay when I answer a call. Is there any way to reduce this delay or make it go away? It is most annoying when I call my voice mail and miss how many new messages I have.

Have you tried another phone? The delay is related to the transfer time for the call. You can't change the car, but you can change the phone, and as the old saying goes: "It takes two to transfer", or something to that effect.

Another vote for trying a different phone. My older Verizon V710 played audio nearly instantly; my current Apple iPhone has a noticable delay.

Its a Blackberry Pearl. The weird thing is that just after I posted this I could hear an audible ring while I was waiting for the phone to answer. This makes me think it mught be a setting or something yhat can be chosen on the phone menu. Anybody else got an idea or suggestion? Thanks!

I noticed this very soon after getting my Prius. When the blue screen comes up on the MFD you have to start talking IMMEDIATELY as you are already connected. If you do then there doesn't seem like a delay.

I have the same problem with the integrated Bluetooth in my Chrysler 300C. When I answer a call and say "Hello" right away, the person on the other end didn't hear me. I had to learn to wait a few seconds before saying anything. I quit using the Bluetooth and now I am just another unsafe driver talking on my cell phone! I was probably less safe using the Bluetooth since it was so distracting!

My experience with the Prius connection is the opposite. If I don't talk right away the person on the other end experiences several seconds of dead air, but if I speak right away they don't have any problem hearing me.

Well, that will be a welcome change if/when I get a Prius!
