    Hello to All,
I'm Mike from southern California. Just sold my 2004 Accord yesterday. I did not realize how bad the MPG was until I stated checking it . It is a 2.4 4 cylinder. My wife drives it and gets less then 20 MPG around town. I am working with a local dealer and should pickup my package 6 on Wednesday. $1300 off MSRP. I have shopped for about three weeks. In that time I have seen the discount and selection go down. One dealer said that if it keeps up there will be no discount. Maybe over MSRP.
This is a great website. Thanks for all the good info.

    Mike:)

ALL of you outside of my area are lucky in getting anything of MSRP. I was able to get $200 off MSRP after holding out for several weeks and working with dealers. (Austin, TX)

I paid a little below or $100 above invoice on my last three NON-Prius automobiles.

    Congrats Mike,
I've had mine for about a month. I got a great discount, but now my salesperson says they are not discounting at all due to limited supply. For once my timing was good.

Welcome to PriusChat Mike. I think with the gas prices on the rise, we are all becoming at the mercy of the car salesmen. Shopping around and playing hardball with salesmen seems to work sometimes, but some people are finding out that MSRP is looking pretty good to them. Better to jump on the Prius-bandwagon now, rather than wait for summer when they will be more scarce.

Wow.. I got nearly 1600 off MSRP in Austin at Champion. I am guessing you went to Maund.

Nah. Round Rock (Classic Toyota). I dealt with several people at Champion and they wouldn't budge past the $200 mark. I also dealt with Maund a little. I chose Round Rock because its closer to home.

I ordered mine to have exactly what I wanted (took about 2 weeks for delivery) and I didn't have a trade in.

Did you buy it off the lot or order? Did you have a trade in?

I did buy it off the lot and had no trade in. When I went in to try the vehicle they had a good number of them and I wanted a loaded up one. The one I got is a touring model pkg #5 with leather added. Most of what they had were pkg 3. I was not crazy about the color and would have rather had a pkg #6 but I took this one anyway and am pleased with it. I am getting 45.6 today in the second tank of fuel. Good luck with you Prius.

    Priusfans,
My name is William. I'm from Holland (Europe). Out here the price of gas is pushing the 10 dollars to the US gallon limit. And though most cars here are more fuel efficient then the average American suv, visiting a gas station is depressing.
I ordered a Prius some weeks ago but still have to wait another 5 months before it is delivered. For some obscure reason Toyota is favoring the US over Europe. They should know by now that our currency is much stronger and they can make more money selling their cars to us Europeans.

No hard feelings.. I don't like the wait but take comfort in reading this great website.

You got a good deal for Austin area. Maybe I could have got more off the MSRP if I chose a car on the lot. I didn't want to spend as much and hated all the Option A, B, or C and other misc crap that were on the non-touring Prius I looked at on the lots for several weeks. You did good, enjoy :)

This may sound off the subject, but can you get a set top box (Non-PC) Blu ray recorder in Holland?

Just wondering why Japan is selling these machines everywhere but the US. I bet you can get a Wii easily also.

This is off topic Austin but yes the the non pc blu ray recorder and Wii are available out here. Maybe Sony and Panasonic outsmart Toyota in serving the European market first.
