I went to several dealers in the area and this is what I discovered.

I was looking for a pkg 6 color flexible.

MANHATTAN - MSRP Price. Small waiting list no time frame given for how long I would have to wait.

HACKENSACK - 400 over MSRP. Didn't waste time asking any more questions.

PARKWAY TOYOTA (Englewood Cliffs, NJ) - 400 under MSRP could drive away that day depending on the color choice.

PLAZA AUTOMALL - (Brooklyn, NY) - 400 over MSRP. I got a good quote through the Capital One Auto Buying. 500 over Invoice. The dealer wouldn't honor it.

WESTCHESTER TOYOTA - (Yonkers, NY) - 100 over INVOICE.... I got it through the COSTCO buying program. This is the Dealer I went with. They don't seem to be all that knowledgable about the PRIUS but the PRICE was right. I could have driven away with a SILVER #6 but decided to wait the 2 weeks for a Seaside Pearl.

What I was really looking for was a TOURING #6 but didn't want to take the chance on the dealer falling through. I actually did make calls to other tates an found several in the OK, TX region. A dealer in PLANO and OKC were willing to work with me on the shipping and tagging of the PRIUS for NY. Both were going to sell at MSRP.

In the end I decide to save the 4000 (Included shipping) and stick with the standard model.

    Thanks for the info enorris.

Those prices you list --- were those with or without negotiation?

BTW, I had a very bad sales experience with Plaza Toyota in Brooklyn.

And I've had nothing but bad experiences with every department of Toyota of Manhattan -- sales, finance, service and parts.

But I've heard good things about Bay Ridge Toyota. Next time I need Toyota repair or warranty work, I'll probably try them.

All were with whatever negotiation people were willing to do. MOst dealers were selling enough at the MSRP that they didn't feel like they needed to. The Westchester dealer was the COSTCO "no hassle" price. At that point I took the best deal.

I never made it to the BAY RIDGE TOYOTA. I live in Washington Heights so it is a bit of a trek. The only reason that I went to the Plaza Toyota is the price they quoted me.

I think you did good at $100 over Invoice (which is what, $2107 below MSRP?), especially now where it seems that prices are trending upwards because of high gas prices, low inventory and apparently the ceasing of production of 08's. Congrats.
