Hard to come by (more so with every jump in the price of gas), tough to beat.

I was finally able to locate a Prius in the area; base model with package 2. Wanted it in Silver Pine Mica, settled for Seaside Pearl. I picked it up on Friday and I dearly love this car. Got rid of a 92 Dodge Dakota (16 mpg) and as much as I miss my pick-up, I dearly love this car...did I mention that I love this car? After 300 miles, I'm averaging 51 mpg; I love this car!

I'll check back in later. Separation anxiety is kicking in; gotta go for a quick spin around campus.

    Cheers,
    Ed

Glad to hear that you finally made the decision to get rid on your old truck and go green. The Prius is absolutely fun to drive. Welcome to the forum. :)

    HI Ed,,
I know what you mean,,, I dearly dearly love my Prius,,,
funny how you said that you settled for the Seaside Pearl,, I wanted that color so bad,,, my 1st choice was the Silver Pine Mica, love me a light green car,, but no such deal, so I wanted the Seaside Pearl even more after I saw one in the showroom, but the package 2 they had was already sold.... so, I settled for the Driftwood Pearl,, and now I dearly love my Driftwood Pearl... I still would rather have that Seaside Pearl color though, but the Driftwood is also very awesome and I just love it..

    I love my Prius!!!!! :D

Hi Michelle, Great to meet another Chicagoan here on the forums. I was born and grew up there...still follow my Cubbies even though they manage to break my heart every year. I had to laugh about the colors (with the exception of white and black) all of them look pretty darn good to me. But I was telling a friend about the car I had just bought and told him the color was seaside pearl...I got a blank stare. So I told him it was a sort of slate grey blue. He still looked at me like I was crazy. Later when he saw it, he said, "Dude, you got a blue car". I couldn't argue, because when I looked at the title application at the dealership, sure enough, under color...BLUE. I could have waited two weeks for a silver pine mica, but once I decided to buy the car I was like an addict waiting for a fix. The seaside pearl grew on me instantly and now I don't think I'd take the silver pine mica if I was offered a trade....but, who knows, maybe there's a second Prius in my future. Cheers,Ed
