I'm curious if anybody has a recommendation on a good place to get tinting done in the Seattle/Eastside area of Washington. Also am curious about prices paid... from reading the forum it looks like prices range from the 100s to the 400s. I'm also interested in suggestions on the type of tint I should go with to get a good balance of price vs. performance.

Finally, legal tinting here requires you have at least 35% of light coming through... will getting this level of tint make a significant difference from no tint?

Another priuschat member recommended Accutint Seattle. They have a Bellevue location. I am in Bellevue and am getting my tint done tomorrow. I am going with the lightest non-metallic tint available on the windshield, and 35% on the remaining windows. Cost was estimated at about $550. $150 of that is for the windshield. Others have said that the tint makes a significant improvement in comfort inside the car when the sun is out. I will try to let you know how it all comes out by posting here. For sure I will post in the appearances mod forum.

This shop is busy. I booked about 2 weeks ago for a July 14 date, but just got a call tonight that there was a cancellation for tomorrow. If you go with them, be sure to let them know you want to be called if there is a cancellation (if that fits with your schedule), so they can flag your file in the computer. I saw their work when I got my estimate. It looks very nice.

    Llumar Tint installed all around!

Just picked up my Pri from AccuTint Seattle. Llumar 50% non-metallic on windshield and 35% on all the others. I also had a hand wash for $15. Looks very nice. It was just a short drive home but the sun was shining straight into the windshield. The heat and glare were noticeably less than pre-tint. Can't use the windows for 4-5 days. The folks at AccuTint were great. They did not treat me like a dumb blonde (which I am NOT by the way!). They came in about $45 under estimate, even with the hand wash. Total with wash was $461.00. They did remove all the stickers that the factory placed on the windshield. I suspect they went for a short drive, as MPG when I dropped it off was 53.8 and when I picked it up was 49.3! Hope they had fun!!!!! At any rate, I would highly recommend this shop for those of you in the Seattle area. [web:3cb2dac77a]http://accutintseattle.com[/web:3cb2dac77a]

Thanks for the feedback... do you mind posting a pic of your car with the 35% tint? Is it significantly darker from what comes standard on the prius? Also, can you tell with the tint that it is basically a sheet applied to the car, or does it look like it is part of the glass?

I will try to get a picture posted one of these days. I can't really see the 50% tint. The 35% is about 2 shades darker than what comes with the Prius, it is what comes standard on other vehicles that come from the factory with tinted windows. Standing next to the car you can see in fairly easy. I was looking at the windshield and windows today and could not tell where the edges were. In fact, when I was picking up the car, I double checked and confirmed that the film was on the inside, not the outside. It looks that good, like the tint is in the glass, not on it. I suggest you visit a tint shop and see the films. 50% is the lightest, 35% is the next lightest.

Well I was about to start a new thread, but this fits right in with what I need!

I noticed the posts are almost 3 years old now, so... Any new updates?

Is AccuTint still the favored tint shop here in Seattle area?

    Or is it something else?

A friend mentioned Aspen Window Tinting... Anyone has experience?

Thank you very much ahead of time!
