    Hi Everyone,

I am located in Baltimore and I am looking to buy a Prius sometime next week (while my parents are around for my college graduation. yay).

I just got a price quote from a dealer:

"$29,333.00 for 2008 Prius pkg #6 includes freight but doesn't include dealer and state fees."

But I think my heart just stopped because it seems so expensive! Is this price reasonable? How can I haggle it down if not? Does anyone recommend any dealers reasonably close to Baltimore?

    Thank you for your help.

Welcome to PriusChat from a fellow Baltimore-on.

Although I live in Charm City, I had to go to Rhode Island in Dec '07 to get
the '08 Touring that I wanted. I paid thousands less than the price you're
quoting. But then, gas cost ~$3.00 at the time.

There has been much discussion here of late not just on prices, but on just
finding any Prius to buy. If you're pressed for time, or just gotta have one
right this very minute, you or your parents are going to get financially
bruited about badly in the current market.

Good luck -- and forget the soy milk, have a Natty Boh, hon.

With any luck, other forum mates with more recent and closer to home
    purchasing experience will post soon.

I bought a Prius package 2 in Edgewood MD at Thompsons Automotive. Jay Heath ([email protected]) (410)679-1500 gave me a very competitive quote (under 23), by email before I walked into the store, and he lived up to the agreement. It can't hurt to send him an email and see what he can offer.
