Good going Martin !!! After much thought I am pumping up my tires to 50lbs from 42ish... What web site did you go to for the LED lights?.. As far as the next meeting goes, im flexable to almost anywhere. Let me know what I can bring in terms of food , chairs, or other supplies..Anyone have any ideas for the next meeting location?? I think in no time at all, we will have a good size group.

Way to go Martin!!! It was so nice to meet all the new owners. I really hope we can get a steady group together.

Anyone besides Hobbit and Doc Willie going to the Green Grand Prix? There is a campsite right in that town (Watkins Glen Park) that looks beautiful. $13.00 a night with showers. The Prius makes a comfy bunk on a chilly night. I slept in it last Sept. in PA for 2 nights. (OK, my first attempt at attaching a picture)

Check out the website for the park Doc and tell me what you think.

I'd start a thread on GGP if I could actually find any information
for 2008 on their website. It all seems to be pix from 2007,
and no data on this year yet.
    .
Well, I started to bang in a whole bunch of other stuff about
last year and realized that I should start another thread anyways.
    So I'll go do that.

Here's my new "mod". I picked it up today. I was very suprised when I checked online for available plates and found that this one was still available. Cool! Someone must have given it up recently. It only took ~5 wks to get it....the one on my last car took over 4 mos!

Uh... I don't think a URL referencing your own personal hard
drive is going to work very well for the rest of us. But now
    we know your real name.

Thank you so much for organizing that meetup! It was jolly good fun! The Larz Anderson park actually seems like an OK place to have future meetups if it's warmer, it's quite scenic and might be a good place to have a BBQ. It might also be nice to have a meetup in a more populated parking lot along route 9, to be closer to food and people to evangelize the ways of the Prius, and parts of route 9 would be good for driving clinics. Neicy, Hobbit and I were able to get some good glides going on our way to Framingham afterwards.
I pumped mine up to 51 (the maximum) today, and watched the MPG go up! They were at 30 before, and they're snow tires, so this made quite a difference! I actually might consider lowering them again though... I could coast much further than usual on smooth pavement, but I had a hard time keeping my foot steady enough over bumps and ended up losing the glide constantly on rougher roads like RT 2. I don't know if this is a problem in all of your Priuses, but mine is incredibly hard to keep in a glide or warp on account of it's MGs being smaller, so the bumps throw things off quite a bit. Have any of you had this problem? I've heard of people inflating the back tires more than the front ones, what is the reason for that and might it help?

Anyway, it was so great to meet you and I hope to see you all at the next meetup!

That was a nice place to meet but there were no facilities for those of us of the "other gender" to use.:yuck: I never would have gotten there without my Garmin.

The higher the tire pressure, the harder the ride. Plus the roads around here reaaly took a beating this winter and are in horrible shape. I have the same problem keeping the foot steady over bumps. Removing my shoe helps some. I haven't driven my husband's GEN I in a long time, but I know it's even tougher to hold a glide than mine is. I do believe that the tire pressure should always be 2 psi higher in the front than the rear to compensate for the weight of the engine in front.

Yes I hope we can keep it up this year. Is May 11th mother's day? If so it might not be good for others.....

hi all, now that it is getting warmer, i noticed a difference in my mileage. i went from 55mpg's to 61mpg's , what a welcome sight.. anywhere around rt 9 would be good for a meeting, as its easy to get to, and has a lot to offer, as far as food, and things to do..today was such a great day.. i pin striped my prius, and put some nice accents on it. gave it a good waxing, if i must say so myself it came out great..

Sorry that I have to bail out. As expected, I ended up at the Beth Isreal hospital on Monday to welcome our 3rd child. ;)

Hooray! Congratulations! Babies are pretty exciting. Maybe you can tell me that it's less terrifying after the first one. :)

Anyway our rabble is certainly not worth skipping your child's birth for, so no need to apologize!

Hi everyone. I'm not currently living in MA (although that's where I'm from, and I went to college at BU), but I'd love to make it to one of these meets. I live in RI so I'd especially like a south-ish meeting point but with my fabulous gas mileage now (old vehicle got 14 mpg!) I guess I have less excuse for a road trip. I know there was a mention of Mother's day weekend, which I cannot make, but maybe the next one?

So, ideas for May? Maybe another shot at Prospect Hill? Or
should we be out in a more public lot where people are likely
to see us, stop by, and get more info? We had that SUV owner
stop off and ask about Priiii last time, which was kinda cool.
    .
The scenery might be really nice with leaf buds just starting
    to pop.

    Hi Folks,
Monday night went to the new grand opening of xpressway toyota... I was talking to the owners and asked them if we could have one of our meet up there, and got a very good response... I think it would be a great place to meet as its right off the highway, and easy to get to.. He also said if he has enough notice they will bring in some techs from toyota, to answer any questions we would have on our cars.. I think it would be a great oppertunity for a get together...What do you all think?

Where abouts are they? I've got an earthfest sort of thing to
go to this coming weekend, but mem-day weekend is looking open.
Maybe we could do it on that Friday afternoon in case people are
jonesing to get on the road for a long weekend on Saturday or
    even later that night.
    .
Unrelated thought: I've got this vague fantasy of setting up
camp at various high-traffic intersections around the area at
either direction of rush hour, and duking it out with the homeless
people to try and hand out these to every car. As Arlo says,
if three people, I mean if THREE people a day do it they they'll
think it's a movement. [Note that when people take their coffee-
cans into such a rat race to collect for charities, they're at
least in pairs if not more around any given location.]

Hi All! How've you been? Tux, thanks for the great suggestion of a meet up place. Let's see if we can get them to sponsor us in some ways. Maybe service, or vouchers or something... I'm sure that they'd be into it, and into having a handful of prius enthusiasts selling their cars for them!

Maybe we could shoot for the first weekend of June, meaning the weekend after memorial day. June 8th or 9th.

The first weekend after mem day is May 31 / Jun 1. And there's
an event in NJ on the weekend after that.
