Almost here, guess I'm a pre-newbie

    While the "thrill of the hunt" was a sometimes fun game, I'm glad it is almost over.
    My 2008 Barcelona Red, Package #2, Prius is supposed to arrive later next week, May 23rd. I visited 4 different dealers within a 75 mile radius before finding the vehicle I wanted without a ton of add-ons, and a good price on my trade.
    Of course, many slip-ups can happen, but hopefully my search in eastern NC will be rewarded.:)

    Hello Pre-newbie! I am a Newbie, received ours on Wednesday May 14. It sounds like you are pretty fortunate to be able to just go out and find one! We had to order ours and waited a month to get it. I know that the market is different in different areas, though.
    Good luck with your new Prius! We love ours!!

    Welcome to you both KayakerNC and goin' green. I was in the middle of you two in terms of waiting time, about 3 weeks. It seemed like an absolute eternity until the day finally arrived when I could go and pick it up and I haven't looked back since. Great car, great mileage.... enjoy ! (and post pics too when your Prius is safely home)

    I'm another pre-newbie. Waiting for my Package 5, probably still 2-3 weeks away. I gave them 4 color choices, hoping I could get one a bit quicker, but they are in big demand around here these days. I was able to test drive one last weekend only because I got lucky and found a dealership that had borrowed one from their rental fleet for the weekend to let people test drive. Loved it. Now I'm just sitting around waiting and reading up.

    BTW, Kayaker, where in eastern NC are you? I used to live near Kinston and am a kayaker myself. I also ised to live in Boone...GO APP!

    Welcome from another newbie. Just picked up my car Friday, May 16. Loving it! I did get some pics yesterday before the rain started - will post soon. Waited for 2 weeks for the car to come in - I was lucky in that someone else had wanted the car and the credit for them fell through. I was in the right place at the right time. Package 3, driftwood pearl. Good luck with the new purchase - hope it gets here quickly for you!

    Hey FrankZ,
    Newport NC, between Morehead and Havelock, and about 64 miles east (on Hwy70) of Kinston. Massey Toyota of Kinston is supposed to call me Tues AM to tell me their coming allocation, and Toyota of Greenville has my deposit since they claim my red package 2 will be coming in this week.

    How far are you from Roswell, GA? Roswell toyota has a bunch of prius' in stock. I was very happy until I realized Roswell, GA instead of NM.

    According to BuyaToyota dot com, Roswell has 0 (zero) Pri's in stock, what it shows is the 148 Pri's in the Southeast. The Roswell Toyota webpage is also showing no inventory for any Prius.
    Darn!
