Remember a year ago, when (even in North Seattle) Prii weren't very common on the ground?

Identifying Priii was like bird identification -- sometimes you'd think you'd seen an '04 Prius in passing... but are you sure it wasn't a Focus? From the front, it could be easy to mix up. (Was that an Ivory-Billed or Pileated Woodpecker? :? )

These days, there's no way -- even at a second's glance -- I could mistake a Prius for anything else. But I am ashamed to admit that, when I was still considering whether to buy a Prius or not, I mistook an Aztek for a Prius.

I thought, "God, they're a lot more bloated and ugly than I remember! I thought they had really nice lines when I saw one before!" :D

    I got your back, Dave.

I remember seeing an Aztek for the first time and thinking it was U-G-L-Y, you-ain't-got-no-alibi ugly. Months later, I fell for the 04 Prius, looks and all. Not long after that, I noted that they are kind of similar from the back, which depressed me just a bit. :)

The moral here, I think, is that perception can be fickle. :D

    Cool...it's counts. :)

Seriously though, having the same car is a good enough reason to get to know someone else for dating potential. Who knows...you might not be single anymore!

As for the comment on house-hubby...I always figured that I'd end up with someone who made less than me. I also would be fine with them being at home and me working as long as they cooked and cleaned. How is that for reversed roles?

Personally, I think the back of the Prius IS ugly. But I think the front and sides look amazing. And considering how much of the design went into reducing drag, I'm pretty happy with the way it looks overall.

I don't really care though, I'd have bought a prius even if it looked like an old dirty cardboard box. There's just no other car like it.

I think you may want to make sure that he can cook. :pukeright:

There is a reason why we have a thing called "bachelor food."

True not all guys can cook... but I find it to be rather interesting that almost all head chefs and tv chefs are male. That aside... I know many more guys who are fantastic cooks than women.

Hey, if you love me, I don't care whether you like my car or not. The woman that marries me gets the car of her choice. Of course, if the car of her choice is a Hummer she probably wouldn't marry me in any case.

And, BTW, I'm back after being locked out of Prius Chat for 4 days by a brain-damaged web browser (IE). Don't know why. (Separate thread in Fred's.)
