Luckly for you, the spoiler is plastic so it will be easy to repair the scratch.
Unluckly for you, if the spoiler is beyond repair, they are very expensive from the dealer. $200+ easy. What a rip.

Probably a weight issue. Toyota worked pretty hard to trim the weight down to a respectable value, given the extra weight of the hybrid system. I would settle for more manual adjustments, even though the existing seats fit me quite well.

The garage clearance is a fairly common issue for many people, myself included. My solution was to tack a piece of foam (used the under-carpet stuff) to the area on the inside of the door where it touches. Allows me to rest the hatch against the inside of the door while unloading, without damage to the paint. Of course, you still have to be very diligent about not hitting the button to close your garage door (if you have an opener) or you will be looking at some pretty ugly damage. For that reason, I will never leave the hatch open unattended, and if I do I slide a brick in front of the anti-pinch sensor on the ground to prevent anyone else from accidentally doing the same.

Regarding the seats, they do seem a little lacking in comparison to the cutting edge technology for the rest of the car, and it was likely for cost-savings or weight-reduction reasons. Generally, if this is important, aftermarket options do exist, or else you can always go for the Camry Hybrid instead.

 

I did the same dumb thing.
Started to back out with the harchback open and whack! It broke the little plastic clips on the 2 ends. Now the spoiler is loose on the ends, but otherwise intact and OK. I haven't inquired to the cost yet of replacing the clips, since it looks and works fine still, just a little loose.

Boy did I feel stupid!

 

I back mine into the garage; with the backup camera it is easy to make sure I do not go too far back. That way I do not have to worry about banging the hatch on the garage door and it is easier to unload anything in the back right into the house.

 

Oooh, I can see how that'd be easy to do.

I was walking once and saw someone pull into the garage before the door had gotten up far enough. The door raked over almost the whole car roof and then busted off the antenna at the back. Then I heard a woman inside let the driver have it! :lol: :lol:

I just kept walking, but sped up the pace a little.

 

I used foam that is designed to cover water pipes. Picked them up at the local harware store, sliced them open and slide them over the garage door braces that are on the inside. Used a little tape to hold them in place.

On evnut.com, Darrell made some cheap hatch opening limiters so you can adjust how much it will open.

 

I used the tire tie down strap for the flat tire to limit the door opening. I tied (not cliped) one end to the right back tie down hook. Now when I open the hatch, I clip the other end to the hook that keeps the hatch closed. The reason I had ti tie it was that the strap is too long.

 

I noticed the same problem when I first parked in a garage. At the time I just placed a towel between the hatchback and the garage door arm. Haven't tried to back into the garage yet, I'll give that a go.

A few weeks ago while backing out of the garage, I managed to bump my passenger mirror against the side of the garage door frame. The cover popped off, and I thought it had popped out of the way. I backed out a little more so I could get around the car and into the garage.

I had managed to park on top of the mirror cover.

I backed the car out a little more and retrieved my now bent mirror cover. With the creative use of some wood braces, I managed to unbend it without breaking it. I snapped it back on, and it's hard to see any damage to it unless you look closely.

 

I did that too. How do you remove the spoiler to re install it correctly?
