I just traded my 06 Acura MDX for an 08 (maybe 09) Prius yesterday. They're telling me it could be more than 2 months. Brutal.

Welcome!! And Congrats for dumping the SUV.. I did the same thing last month.. You will NOT be sorry. I don't even miss my SUV, it was only a 4cyl but it still guzzled gas in my opinion..

Once you get your Prius, you will forget all about the SUV... :D:D

Larry, I thought that you traded your Lexus GS300 in for a Prius in season 2?

Dumped my Dakota Quad cab V-8 Magnum a week ago today. Was initially sad, but still on the same tank of gas (by a long shot) and after a few modifications don't miss the truck at all. I really enjoy the looks from other drivers each morning that are still stuck driving the land yachts.

Hell, I even have fun driving it.

No worries, you will be happy with your decision

Congratulations on your decision! I placed an order yesterday and will be trading in my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee -- goodbye poor gas mileage!

How much are you paying the dealer to take your Jeep? Just joking--I think. :D Former Liberty owner.

    Welcome aboard Larry,

I am a new guy too and I have learned a fair amount by researching these forums. I really like my 08 Prius and am looking forward to many happy miles. I am excited for you and hopefully it won't be too long before you can report about being a Prius owner. Great folks round these parts.

Let's hear a cheer for high gas prices, because it will surely drive gas guzzlers into extinction. Someone should tell our "wonderful" President that more and cheaper oil is not the answer to global warming, but lower CAFE averages IS! The truckers are going to suffer, though until more freight is sent by rail.
