    I'm not thinking of this as a question so much of what I am allowed to do (i.e. am I "allowed" to sub-let my space). It's more a question of what I can get away with. I believe I can get away with it. They don't have my license plate number on file and there's no sticker on the car. Just an RFID card that I have to touch to a pad on my way in to open the gate, and again to leave. It only allows you to enter once with a particular card (so you can't park more than once with the same card) before you leave again. I only have a $20 deposit on the card itself, so it's not the end of the world if I don't get it back after the event.

    This ramp is not close enough to the Xcel Energy Center to get top dollar at hockey games and events (only $6 for the event, compared with $20 for ramps across the street from the Xcel) so I'm not sure that I can really lease the spot for the amount that I'd like to. But the advantage of having a card vs paying cash to park is that with a pass, you are guaranteed a place to park in this ramp.

    I have no facts to back this up, but I would be willing to put money down on the bet that this year's conventions - on both sides - will have protesters of one sort or another and that this will not be the first time.

    If you are some type of lefty, rent it and send the money to the DNC since they can't seem to pay for Denver this year. But in such a down economy Barack seems to be taking in record millions??? Humm who really is the party of the rich?

    But if you don't get the card back won't you have to purchase a new contract? You'd have to demand a deposit equal to the value of the rest of the contract. Otherwise the person you rent it to might not return it. But if you demand a deposit, he might fear that you would not return the deposit.

    Or do you have to pay to park each time, and the "contract" & card only guarantees you the space?

    If all you can get is $6 a day for the duration of the convention, it hardly seem worth the bother.

    No. It's just like if I lose my bank debit card--the person who finds it doesn't get to empty my account and keep using it, assuming I cancel it. My employer takes $50 out of each paycheck (pretax, so it's really more like $35) which goes to the parking company. As long as the money keeps coming, my card keeps letting me into the ramp.

    Well, that's the going rate during hockey games. And that's only the rate for a game itself. It's more like $9 for a whole day, I think. I think the rates may be higher during the convention, too. Also keep in mind that my space is worth more than the posted cash price because cash parkers aren't guaranteed a space, while I am. (You'd think that occasionally the ramp manager would mess up and max out the lot with cash parkers and I'd get screwed, but it's never happened--they always seem to leave us contract parkers enough spaces so we can enter even when the "full" sign is on.)

    In any case, if I can't get $200 for the week of the convention, it's really not worth the hassle.

    Okay, I get it. You pay $50 per paycheck (is that once a month or once every two weeks?) and the card lets you in. So if someone gives you $200 for the week, he gets to park for $14 per day (assuming the convention is 7 days) and you make $100 (assuming you get paid every two weeks) and if he doesn't give you back the card you pay $20 and you've make $80. Or you charge a $20 deposit on top of the $200.

    Are the convention delegates on their own for parking? The convention center does not provide it? How far away is your parking garage?

    If it's worth it to give up your space for a week for $200, would it be worth it to give up your space entirely for $2,400 per year and save gas besides, by taking the bus to work?
