Energy monitor changing color???

For the '07, there is a choice of green or orange background. My husband's '03 looks blue and I'm not sure if he has an option to change it's background. The differences in the two pictures on thr right look like camera exposure and/or color saturation differences possibly. The left one looks more like a Gen I screen. I do know different option packages have different screens. Perhaps one of the more knowledgeable members will have a better answer for you. I was gonna attach a picture but I only have pics of the comsumption screen which is not helpful.

 

There is a way to search through the MFD menus, till you reach a "background color" line, but I couldn't get it on my 2008.

I think there were 4 BG colors available for the 2004 Prius

 

IMO the 1st one looks like a Gen 1 (the sedan). The 2nd looks like an early Gen 2 (hatchback before 2006). The 3rd one looks like the current 2006+. There is also an option to change colors.

 

I change between green and orange every now and then for the hell of it.. It's an option.

 

Couldn't the middle picture also be from a 06 and up? I ask that because when I test drove a 2008 base with package 2 it had the lower resolution screen, and I thought that the ones with backup cameras had the higher resolution screen.

 

Just think how many won't know what the current display looks like a few years from now...

I wish we had more color choices because the green looks more like blue. Green is the leaf color on the screen. Orange is really brown or amber.

I use one color for the winter and the other during the summer.

 

That's odd, my '08 package 2 has the high res screen.

 

My '07 has also has the high resolution screen.
