The Toyota bra fits so tight and I mean it looks impossible to put on at first. With bras in general, the only WEAR I've known (with over 20 years of different bras on my vehicles) is where the bra drapes over the edge of the fender. Also if left on for too many years with a wet bra, the paint may cloud. In all those years I kept the bra ON rain or shine, carwash or not, of course I wiped underneath there occasionally.
Have someone show you a picture of underneath a bra after many years as compared to the hood exposed. My bet is the bra is protecting the paint better than an exposed hood.

Easy solution: Zaino seal the paint to high heaven, then apply the bra. (or apply the shield as I did).

This only works if you can stand the bra look.

I'll be heading down this path soon as well. 3000 miles only and already a dozen chips on the hood.

Here's the end result, taken by lousy cell phone.
(all areas covered by bra have the shield underneath)

I agree it must be the aerodynamics of the Prius. My older Camry has about 100 little spots like you've all described and my 4-Runner has maybe 1 or 2 - same age vehicles. I'm going to the dealership tonight to order my first Prius and this 3M product sounds like a good idea right out of the gate.

I am just mentioning that from reading threads on here where the people complained about their bras scuffing their paint. But they didnt have the 3m underneath though. I think I will wait for now but I will do it just probably after I get a paint job.

I had VentureShield installed the day I purchased my Prius (drove straight there from the dealer). It covers the entire hood and bumper plus the back of the mirrors. I chose VentureShield because it has a lifetime warranty.

I applied it later that same day. I always like to personalize my vehicle in some way. I guess I hate blending in with the crowd.
