The CA law does little to achieve its goal. I can still key up my amateur radio while driving ... I can still write & read text messages while driving, read the paper, etc, I simply can't hold the phone to my ear and use the phone.

I have installed the lockpick and installed a indash DVD player with TV tuner and RCA inputs in the front. Also installed a car TV antenna. TV tuner good until Feb 09. Still use burned DVDs and RCA inputs for Zune or ipod videos. After market DVD player fits perfect under radio in map compartment. If you want photos let me know I will sent them to you. motor on with Prius and video aids.

I think the larger question here is why on earth would you choose to watch Fox & Friends? I hear that show is being touted as an "organic lobotomy."

The New York Times says that whether it's using your phone, adjusting your GPS, changing the station on the radio, or anything else:
High-Tech Invitations Take Your Mind Off Road

"Talking on cellphones and typing text messages while driving has already led to bans in many states. But now auto companies, likening their latest models to living rooms on the road, are turning cars into cocoons of communication systems and high-tech entertainment.

Some drivers are packing their car interiors with G.P.S. navigation screens, portable DVD players and even computer keyboards and printers.
State Senator Carl L. Marcellino of New York learned this firsthand while riding in a cab in Miami — the driver was watching a boxing match on a television mounted on the dashboard."

Tell me this isn't a distraction IN ADDITION to everything else that could be done in a car.

You CAN get OEM parts for this. My 2004 Prius came with a TV tuner installed. It only presents sound unless parking brake is on. Unfortunately it uses NTSC format, which is fine for the US (and Japan), but we broadcast PAL signal here. I haven't bothered to see if I can change the receiver chip.

That's not the car/MFD in question(your attached pic). The screen is too low to see in peripheral - compared to the 08 prius MFD which is right in line with looking at the road--I mean parking lot.

agendas aside, because I don't pay enough attention to notice if that show(F&F) has one, I just like the funny comradery they have.

Japan. You'll have to search PriusChat to find the links to Toyota OEM sites in Japan (its been a while) or ask someone who's going to pick up the parts for you. They (the parts) must have been available for quite a while since they are in my 2004.

Good. I NEVER ASKED FOR A COMMON SENSE TALK
    And...
i Just said, I watch it(F&F) for the entertaining comradery DA (not factual, absolute daily news)!
You probably heard someone you look up to ranting FOX is fixed and now you repeat it every time someone who doesn't know your hero brings it up, even if it's just one single program off the whole network(whether you have any tangible/legitimate evidence of your statement or not).

If you must know, since you have no regard against hijacking my thread for your off-track BS, I get my news through a combo of TV, Radio, Internet, Print, etc. A broad perspective from several independent sources.

Watching the wheels go round and the energy flow in and out of the battery lost it's thrill for me long ago.

Would those of you who are watching TV while behind the wheel, please put a bumper sticker on the front, back and both sides of your car that says "Beware - driver watching TV - may or may not be paying attention to the road."

I do not want to be on the road with you when you are watching TV. If you choose to endanger yourself, that's fine, but do not put my life or property in danger.

No worries and no bumper stickers needed; just look out for any Prius that has a boomerang TV antenna mounted to the roof, just like a limo.

I flipped a car end over end because I wasn't paying attention. I do not want you or anyone else to have that experience.

Yeppers, I'm redundant and you are invincible. Nothing bad will ever happen to you.

By the way the "language" is not appropriate.

Don't see what the issue is. The Prius in Japan COMES with a TV tuner. You know.. the TUNE knob that we have here actually functions as a TV tuner too. They've had TVs in their car since the early 90s. Are you saying the Japanese are smarter than the Americans? seems so.
