I talked to the Japanese gentleman directly at YM International Company in Bellevue, WA (east of Seattle).

Got it the next day by US Mail. Nice design, simple, efficient mechanism with a well-crafted ball valve.

The price is $ 22.95 plus shipping and any applicable taxes.

I will be installing at next oil change (Duh! ) and refill with Mobil 1. costco has it for a decenty price.

To order yours, you can go to:

    www.fumotovalve.com

    or call them at 425 882 1539

    Mailing address is:

    YM International ?Co.
    P.O. Box 50253
    Bellevue, WA 98015

BE SURE AND MENTION PRISUCHAT.COM; they should give you 10% off list price.

By the way; unofficially, my Toyota Parts guy said he could see no reason why this part would void the warranty unless the ball valve somehow failed and the ICE lost too much oil. Not likely, the way this assembly is built.

    Have fun!

Did you buy the N-type valve with a nipple? Would there be room for it, (another 7/8" in length)?
It would be really nice to use a hose to drain the oil into a gallon container, rather that the pan I use. One step, no mess...
    Thanks, Alan

By the way, Bob (or anyone else for that matter), I think someone posted at one point or another how much the crush washers for the '04 Prius drain plug cost. Do you happen to remember that price?

I'm also wondering if any of the DIYers out there have replaced the Prius OEM-type oil filter with a Fram PH4967 or TG4967.

I bought the basic assembly - no nipple for a hose.

I have a large drain pan with a pouring spout which seems to work ok.

As to using Fram, others, I'd be sure my local Toyota dealer is OK with that. It shouldn't matter if it's OEM-equivalent and you keep receipts and dates, but you should check to see if they are "enlilghtened" now so they don't give you grief on Warranty, later.
