Just heard on TV that David Maus Toyota in Sanford Florida is getting 15 :p new Priuses which are going to be sold starting at 7 AM tomorrow June 19. The TV station is going to be taping it for their broadcast in the evening. They said anyone who wants one should be there. I got mine last October at David Maus and I can vouch for them. Very nice dealer.

I do not understand why they don't have a waiting list to fill. odd.
Something tells me they will cost more then MSRP and there will be quite
a few people there on the list wondering what in the heck is going on.

Not sure what the exact deal is. Nobody else in Central Florida has any and the local station has been having small segments on their news about the shortage of hybrids and the Prius in particular. Seems like a hot topic.

I was going to buy from them but then Central Florida Toyota honored the Costco price. One of the things they did say was that they do not sell over MSRP. My father bought a Scion from them and is very happy with their support.

Interesting, I wonder if they will sell at a big markup or just want the publicity.

I just got mine at sticker/msrp here in Oregon at Lithia Toyota, I found out that sticker price on hybrids is their policy (for now) I wouldnt be surprised if that changed soon.

Good luck to anyone trying to purchace one right now
    Not easy by any stretch

I got a fully loaded Prius and a good deal that was under MSRP. I will certainly follow up tomorrow with what exactly goes down. I don't know how many people want one but my guess is that the place will be rockin' at 7 AM.

The dealership used a lottery system to sell the 12 not 15 Priuses that they received. The prospective buyers got tickets and there was a drawing. From what I understand none of the priuses sold for over MSRP. I certainly would recommend David Maus because they were fair and didn't gouge anyone.:car:

That is strange. I was unaware of this when I spoke with them earlier today. They told me they are on a 2-3 month wait list. Seemed like a nice dealership though as they are one of the few who sell at MSRP.

Edited** Okay, just reread the OP and realized the sale was this morning. This all makes sense now. :)

i am still going to guess they shafted the people on their waiting list.
i cannot imagine any dealership not having one right now or last week.

All I can do is guesstimate. Perhaps they do have a waiting list and maybe these cars had a package # less than what was desired by people on the waiting list. Maybe that is why they sold 12 instead of 15 cars. The other 3 may have been acceptable.

I think the folks on the list want a certain color and a certain package.

I got my Prius the same day my wife and I went out looking for it. I think it is because it has the highest option package in a common color... not because the dealer was out to screw someone over.

We paid sticker... drove off that night.
