SPM - which color leather interior is best?

My own personal opinion...

I like the bisque the best. I think it looks better with the exterior.

I've had light and dark color interiors in both fabric and leather, and either way I find the light color tends to be a little cooler. I do live in a climate where we have a lot of hot, humid days and very few really cold days so that makes a huge difference to me.

I don't find the lighter interior being more prone to get dirty, but I don't have kids or transport other people on a regular basis. I don't eat in my car. I have a dog, but she gets carsick so she only rides with me when she has to go to the vet and then I have a car seat cover that I use. Of course leather is easier to clean than fabric since spills don't soak into the seat the way it does to fabric interiors.

 

When I first began shopping for my Prius, I was set on having the bisque leather interior... but as the process evolved and I was able to actually see the various color combinations, I decided on the Spectra Blue exterior, which doesn't have the bisque as an option... only the grey. Personally, I never really thought I would like a grey leather interior, but in this application I think it rocks!

Have you decided on which exterior color you want? That may make the decision for you. Also, as a second choice, the Black exterior with Bisque leather interior is really nice. Great contrast!

The Hertz rental that I test drove for a weekend had a bisque interior. It really showed the dirt after only 7000 miles. Granted, it was a rental, but I figure that means at least it was vacuumed a few times a week. One of the few stipulations I have for my wait list is no bisque interior.

EDIT: Sorry - didn't see the word leather in the thread title - my observations reflect having seen the bisque cloth interior.

 

The gray will stay much cleaner (no controversy) and looks better (my opinion).

 

i agree. also the outside color of the car means a lot too. magnetic gray
with a gray leather interior simply looks stunning. i cannot speak for the
other color options.

 

Unless you are getting custom leather or cloth seat covers, I believe that ONLY Grey is available with the SPM.

 

I have Magnetic Grey exterior and chose the grey leather. I preferred the grey with the dark dash and I also have a couple of dogs, so this time I went with the grey. Previous car (Volvo XC70 had bisque).

 

I am in line to get package #6 on my first color choice of silver pine mica and it is definitely available in bisque leather. Personally, I think SPM with bisque leather is a stunning combination. I also agree that black looks great with bisque leather but my last car had that combo and I think SPM is a better color choice for my Prius this time around.

I suppose there are aftermarket leathers that may look good with the SPM. I have to say the Toyota Bisque leather combination w/SPM is very appealing to the eye. The seats stay relatively cool in the summer, the leather does not magnify my coffee spills like my grey leather seats in my Highlander and the seats are pretty easy to clean.

 

We've had our Silver Pine Mica Package 6 with Bisque leather since early January and we haven't had any problems re dirt or wear. Of course, when our dog comes along, we cover the back seats, and when we're on a trip in hot weather, we use towels in the front. (It's easy to toss a towel in the wash to get rid of crumbs, grime and sweat.) We went with Bisque because we thought it was understated and kind of cool. But no doubt the grey looks good, too. Regardless of what you decide on, good luck finding what you want!

 

With SPM? Bisque leather looks best, I believe. I've had that combo now for 10 months, and I have had no trouble with dirt -- even with young children!

Gray. The Bisque is way too difficult to keep clean. Gray looks richer.

 

I chose bisque and Love It! After having black leather in my last car, and grey before that, I decided I wanted something lighter and more mood-lifting. I worried about dirt, but the leather cleans easily enough. I'd choose the bisque again.

 

I have the Bisque interior. The Bisque looks great and more upscale. If I had to do it all over again I would probably do grey. It really is a lot easier to clean and you dont end up with very noticeable spots on the carpet!

One option is doing a Bisque interior with black floormats.

 

When we ordered our loaded package 6 in May of 2007. We ordered it in Silver Pine Mica(Green) with the bisque leather. It came in with the dark gray leather instead. The dealer asked if we wanted it or wait for what we ordered. We took it. I like the gray a lot better than the bisque, at least with the green. Looks better and is easier to keep clean
