    Hi!
I have an ’08 Prius and am annoyed (as many of you are) with the reverse chime. How do I turn it off ? I would also like to turn off the terrible seat belt reminder chime, does anyone know how to do that as well?
Thanks in advance for any help with this issue!
    Sincerely, Stefan

This guide will help you with not only the reverse chime but the many other questions you may have

    John's Stuff - Toyota Prius User-Guide

You can download the guide in pdf or doc format. It has lots of good info.

:amen: Seriously, folks, I've been a member of this forum for a relatively short time, since December, and I swear that I've seen "how do you disable the reverse beeper?" posted at least a dozen times. It's in the manual which I acknowledge is the size of a short novel, but does have a pretty decent index. And the OP's comments specifically state that he knows many of us are annoyed by the chime, indicating that this entire thread is probably a joke and that Yloppan is nothing more than a troll.

I've got a better idea for a thread title: Disable posts relating to disabling reverse chime - How do we do?

I'm for that. It would also be neat to have a permanent thread under the newbie section with a link to John's Stuff - Toyota Prius User-Guide

with a warning not to ask questions until you have read the guide.

If he is a troll, and bored he did a good job of wasting our time.

It is a common request, it probably should be "stickied" somewhere appropriate on the site.

Hi Guys, and thanks for the feedback!

I'm not a joke or a troll, I had not seen the guide until Austin50mpg was kind enough to help me. I have still not been able to figure out how I disable the seatbelt beep, also highly annoying for me.
Anyone who can point me in the right direction?
    Thanks!

Hej Stefan and welcome to Prius chat!

Sorry to disappoint you, but the instructions on how to disable the annoying reverse beeper just can't kill it on a European spec Prius. I suspect that's what you have... On a comforting note, there are American problems we don't get. Such as the infamous gas tank bladder or the non-height adjusting seats...or the HID lights which don't seem to really live up to expectations...or the tires...or the engine oil standards...

    Hei på dere
    Hey guys.....

Yesterday I was able to remove the seat belt beeper but not the reverse beeper on my 2007 Prius. Its a european model so I can also confirm that you can't do it in europe.

    Thanks Orten,

I have tried several times, all with some different twists, and then back to the basic insructions again, but with no good result. So, I'm stuck with bothe the reverse beep and the seatbelt reminder.

My car is a European spec car, delivered right here in Stockholm, Sweden, and I now realize that this is why the instructions doesn't do me any good! I will work on the issue and get back when I find out something of interest.

So, thomash, how did you get rid of the seatbelt beeper?

    Have a great midsummer!
