Over the weekend I went to a dealer in Cincinnati and when we first sat down with the salesmen he said that the deposit was $500 then when he talked to his manager about one question he came back saying that it was now $1000. What a scam, I know they are in high demand but dealers are taking serious advantage of buyers. Very unfortunate. He did say it was refundable though but who knows after such a quick and huge jump.

Gosh, according to recent threads, people are putting deposits with 2 or 3 dealers, trying to cut their wait-times.
Who could have seen this coming?

the dealership we went to told us that it was a $500 deposit initially. we went back two weeks later, and were told $1k. but they did allow us to just put $500 down. did you ask if they would allow the lower amount?

My deposit was $1000. And it is totally refundable.

The first time I went, on Friday, it was $500. By Monday when I had everything lined up,t hey had changed. Sigh. At least I am still under MSRP.
