Called yesterday and Spoke to sales manager about getting on waiting list, amount need for deposit and pricing. He said they only charge MSRP but I would probably be getting a 2009 and if MSRP went up I would pay the difference between 2008 and 2009.

I went in today and signed the paper work but was not given a price. They just wrote on paper work price subject to change. I pushed them for a price and they said it was actually MRSP plus $1100. I told them that was not what I was told before coming.

The owner was gone but his son was running the place and said that was a good deal most dealership are charging $5000.00 Over MSRP.

Shady deals like these gives car dealers a bad name. This makes me feel that this dealership is dishonest.

Drive over to Greentree in Danbury, had a very easy transaction when they were in stock. Things may be different now though.

I had a fine buying experience at Toyota of Wallingford back in the Fall of '05. We paid MSRP at a time when it was difficult to get a car for that price. It's a shame to hear that they're not such a good deal anymore.

Bought my wife's Prius there about 3 months ago there. Had no problems, got it for couple thou under list. Think we got there right before the shortage started. They had 4 on the lot.

I asked them for the ‘web quote’. Got a response without the quote that there is a long waiting list, but they’ll sell me something else, .....
So I ask - how about a vehicle to test drive? (This by phone.) ‘Don’t have one, don’t know when they’ll get one...’ I asked him to call me when they got a car in to test drive. I really felt that he couldn’t be bothered.

In the meantime I’m getting e-mails every few days telling me how great Wallingford T is and what a great salesperson this guy is He told me all about his family. (I’ve forgotten his name.)

I went to Middletown Toyota on the recommendation of a friend, test drove and ordered one. Yes there will be a wait, but they were very helpful but NOT pushy.

You might want to try A-1 in New Haven. They are still asking MSRP although they do have a waiting list. I got mine by taking a longer drive to Lia Toyota in Wilbraham, MA. It was worth the trip. You may want to give that a try also. (Lia is also asking MSRP).
