Does anyone know a toyota dealer that will sell a Prius @ MSRP in Atlanta, GA?

I would like a silver Prius w/ AM (HID, smart key, side airbag) package. The MSRP is about $23k, I think.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am wondering the same thing for savannah. I am willing to drive to Atlanta or other surrounding areas if need be. I cant even find one locally to test drive.

Can you even get a AM package in Georgia? I'm here in NC and the AM package is not one of the options available in this region. My dealer says they can order one, but I am a little uncertain about that. I know they have them up in VA and I'm currently considering getting one from there. In fact, I hoping to be able to get one just a little below MSRP.

Another thing to watch out for in the Southeast region is the like to slap on port options a lot really upping the price of the car with things most usually do not want.

Also consider checking around in TN. I've seen a couple on this board that went there from TX to get a car.

Well, it seems like every dealership in GA has either #5 or #6 package. They probably want to make a big profit buy selling two most expensive options.

Oh, and the dealerships around here list MSRP for #6 optioned cars @ $28k!!! It's insane!

I guess I would be willing to travel to other state to buy the car that I want, but that's such a hassle. :(

A local dealership got one in today and my husband stopped to look at it. He said that it was a #5 and was 25,000 which included some $2000 additional tax or something not including sales tax. I think this must be the port tax others talked about??? We are looking at checking out dealerships in virginia. The Alexandria Toyota website claims to have 24!

Thats what we said. Well then lastnight we went to another dealership so i could see one and test drive it. It was the weirdest experience ever b/c no one there seemed interested in telling us about this car, infact they didnt really know about it. I asked them questions and they were like "I dont know". It was crazy. They ofcourse were happy to order us a #6 for 26,650. I forgot to ask if this delership also had the crazy additional 2k 'port fee'.
We are pretty much decided we will never buy a car in savannah. We will begin looking at VA since we are headed up there in a few weeks for a visit anyway and there are two dealerships who have over 20 listed on their websites! Havent called yet so whether that is the case is still to be seen.

There was a post in the Yahoo group over the weekend that said someone got a Prius for like $300 UNDER MSRP in the Washington DC area, so I wish you the best of luck up there. They are starting to come down in certain area of the country, but it appears the Gulf States dealers are still raping people.

The specific dealership was not named, just that there was a general surplus of Prii in the area.

yeah I have seen that on several dealerships websites in that area. Some have as many as 30 on their lots! Hope we can work that to our advantage.

    Hi Sean,

I am in Canton and will be buying a #6 equiped Prius in about two months from Cherokee County Toyota. (Need to wait until our van is payed off.)Ask for Jim Pyron. He has been great for me. Prices seem somewhat less than surrounding prices. Let me know what you end up doing.

I have been to six Toyota dealerships in north and west metro Atlanta. The "Corporate Dealership" said they sold at MSRP, but when I tried to place an order, they refused to commit to delivery of what I ordered. I guess I would have had to take what ever came in.

Most of the other dealerships wanted from $2,000 to 5,500 premium, and under the mistaken impression I was paying a premium of $1,000 ordered a Prius. Turns out I didn't read the fine print in enough detail and I ended up paying $4,000 dollars premium..... I don't think you can find a dealership in this area that sells at MSRP.

I am supposed to take delivery next week after only four weeks wait. After I actually posses one, I will relate the story of my full degree of idiocy. I will propose a thread entitled someting like, "What is the highest price paid for a Prius?"

You gotta admire the no shame profit motive and the law of supply and demand. All that aside, I am still looking forward to my Prius and hope it turns out correctly with the various options I ordered..... More later.

I shopped all over the Atlanta area, both in person and web. My experience was that Sandy Springs Toyota wanted a 'premium' of $6900 over the MSRP and would ONLY sell the one they had at that time. They would not order one.
I finally choose Toyota World and they were very helpful, patient, explanatory of the Prius--the salesman, Gary Woodward, knew everything I asked about. I ordered one with a 10 week min delivery time (1000 refundable deposit). A week later Gary called me since a gentlemen who had ordered one decided to get a VW Diesel and did not wish to buy the car ordered. I went down and it was not the color I had ordered (Silver) it was Bright White (who knew white could be so attractive?) and it had more packages that I ordered (mainly the option w/ leather seats) However, the best I could get w/my 2003 VW New-beetle was 26mph (no A/C and a lot of coasting) I bought the prius--paid more that the one I ordered (It had more options) BUT now I realize NONE of them are frivolous add on's AND leather is better than the cloth I had in the VW.
They made a Market Adjustment of 2,200 (which I checked around and was low).
I did send an email to Toyota.com and called their 800 complaint #. They were apologetic HOWEVER Toyota dealers are independent Dealers (translation: Sandy Springs can gouge)
Summary I ready to sell my condo and live in the Prius. It is every thing thing I thought it was AND so Much More. Running the A/C and getting 38/48 MPG ain't too shabby!
