I was informed Friday by my wife that my mirrors arrived from Japan in only two weeks. She said they look pretty kool but that all the instructions are in Japanese. Speedracer sort of volunteered to maybe translate them for me and I may just take him up on the offer.

Like I mentioned in the other post, I will post pictures when I get them installed.

Cost was less than $400 including all shipping, currency translation and the fee for using a credit card.

What happened to the third page of posts on this topic?????

I received a pm from someone in Japan (now that is missing as well) who told me that in Japan you can order mirrors with the following

option for tilt downward on reverse
option for the mirror to close in upon shutting down the vehicle
option for turn signal
option for heated mirror

I added up the prices and it was about 550.00 for everything at 120 y to the $. Problem is you also need the modules that control these functions. That could add more $ but also they may not easily attach to the electrical system.

Anyway where are the other posts????

Lets start over shall we?
Mirror assembly with turn signal.
There is no option.
It come with heated future.
If you want to have tilt the mirror when ever engage to reverse or want fold mirror automatically when lock you door
you need to buy additional module from Toyota
There is question regarding to wireing and such.
For Japan, remove the door panels, unscrew the mirror, unplug the wire, run wire from exist turn signal(from fender), do adjustment for turn signal.
Then reverse order.

 

I'm interested, with same caveats others expressed about ease of installation, retaining the heated feature, and having the mirrors already painted. Also, I would be less likely to commit to the projected $375 parts cost than to something in the sub-$200 range.

 

From looking at my mirror assemblies that came from JapanParts there are no mirrors in the box. You must use your existing mirrors. And if your OEM mirrors are heated then you will have heated mirrors when you install the new assemblies.

Also, from what I can tell my mirrors only have the safety fold in them. There is no auto folding nor is there any auto tilt when you put the car in reverse.
