For the MPG statistics, just completed a trip from Phoenix to Raleigh to Washington, DC, to Dayton, Ohio, to Bridgman, MI, to Kansas City, MO, and back to Phoenix for a total of 5482 miles on 99.6 gallons of gas!! Love this car! I may buy a second one.

55 US mpg ? How did you get that? Driving at 50mph with AC off?

    Excellent!

I have an older, 2003 Prius and got 54 MPG on a recent trip from HSV-to-DC and back, 740 miles each way. I used AC above 82F and otherwise just cruised at 65 mph. Piece of cake.

We're plannning a trip shortly from flat Florida to craggy Colorado, about 3,300 miles round trip. I'm targeting but not anticipating 55 (our best so far), although my wife gets better mpg than I. I am anticipating better mpg coming back (downhill, 6,000 feet altitude to 14 feet) than going.

Nope! A/C sometimes on fresh air, and did 65 - 70 but with cruise control on for about 90% of the time. Tire pressure = front 42#, rear 40#.
