    Ok need to revisit this.

1 - old phone died and had to get a new phone. And in a matter of weeks my laptop died. yeah sucks to be me.

    2 - got a replacement phone.

3 - I found the old threads with the issues on the Palm 700p. I ran the wireless keyboard update and the CarKitInstaller.

4 - I check my bluetooth/phone version and insured that all were the current versions.

    5 - I have Verizon.

End result it will not sync with my 2006 Prius. My old phone (same model) hooked right up after I did the keyboard and carkit patches. But this phone will not. I check my Prius to make sure all was well with it as my husbands phone (a Samsung) and my daughters phone (Nokia) will both connect with no issues.

    Help!

when you're at the bluetooth setup screen and searching.. then put in the passcode... after that your phone will say it's connected but your car will probably not respond to this... if this is your case.. make a outgoing call right after you sync. This should take care of it...

    Holy cripes that worked!!!

    THANK YOU!!!!!

Serious thank you. My sanity was in a very delicate balance for a while there. I have been fighting with this for a couple of weeks.

I turned off the car and the phone and it took a while for it to find the phone again, but at least it did. :)

This process works with the Verizon Centro from Palm. Have a 2006 Prius... phone acknowledged the bluetooth connection, but Prius would not UNTIL a call was immediately made, then all was well.

I was able to send my whole Contacts from Treo 700p (Sprint) to my 2008 Prius - or so I thought. As I sorted thru the entries later, several were missing. Stranger yet, when I now send those individual entries, the transfer appears successful, and the Prius report of the number of free slots decreases by one, but the new entry can not be found in the phonebook. On the Prius I am using "No Group" for everything.

Thanks to this board for the hint about making an outgoing call to kick the Prius out of "Connecting...". The dealer didn't know that trick.

Anyone have any idea what's happening to those single phonebook entries I transfer that appear to be going into the bit bucket?
