Jacksonville, FL prius owners?? Looking for service dept.

    Hi all-

    I'm in Jacksonville, looking for an alternative to the dealers' service departments that I can trust! Many say that changing the oil in a prius is just like another car, but I also feel that the prius is just unique enough to need someone with a little extra know-how when under the hood. Maybe I'm just overprotective, but, that's ok with me!

    I hate to think that the dealers have a monopoly on this know-how, and hope that there's someone in the Jacksonville area that has a reputable mechanic that they swear by to do the maintenance on their prius.

    Anyone?

    OK, I KNOW Jacksonville is behind the times in a lot of ways, but COME ON, aren't there ANY forward-thinking Prius lovers out there in Northeast Florida??? Help me out!:p

    Just take it to the dealer. That's who you're going to take it to for warranty work, you can trust them to do something as mundane as an oil and filter change.

    I've been to Ernie Palmer Toyota on Cassat Avenue now for two oil changes and one tire rotation at 5,000. I have over 13,000 miles on a 6 3/4 month old Prius. So far they've done a good job, and haven't started the usual, you need this or that yet. That's still to come....

    Hopefully my next trip there at 15,000 is for the oil, and tire rotation again.
