:confused:As you can see I am new so Hello to everyone. In March I purchased my daughter a 2001 Prius with 67k miles. It has been a terrific lil car. However, today she left her windows down and we got 1/2 inch of rain in about 10 minutes. NOw her Hybrid system warning light is on? I have taken an air gun and blown out everything that I could see was wet. At the first it would not move. However, next it would go in reverse. I just went and checked nad now it will go forward. I just unplugged the small battery hoping it will do a reboot??? Any help is GREATLT Appreciated as I do NOT want to Toast anything.. Thanks

    Also What is a Tag?

    Welcome!!!!:welcome:

Can't tell you much about fixing your daughter's car but I think a Tag is when you place keywords on a topic so others may search. I know this works for wikis and YouTube. Never used them on PC.

    Long trips with your Prius?

Hey all. I really want a Prius, but the hubby's only hang up is the cargo room. You see, we go to two tradeshows a year and the hubby wants to drive next year. In my 4Runner, that's no problem. But, I was just curious if anyone has gone on long trips and brought along alot of cargo in your Prius. Let me know so that I can convince my husband that we can do it.

hopeful, this is called thread hijacking. how does this help out the OP?
you should search for similar threads, or open up a new one. this one is about water causing a warning light and system failure.

ksfhawgs, I'd take it to a toyota dealer, and have them run diagnostics. sounds like water got into somewhere it shouldn't.
    hope this helps.

No there was no water standing in the floor boards. It was just a quick summer thunderstorm. Waer was in the door handles etc. and the carpet and seats got damp to wet.

I went and read through the suggested thread. Thank you. Very informative. I was not aware of the inverter etyc being under the drivers seat. I did not do any blowing or drying under there. I did remove the back seat and place two fans under it incase the battery connections got wet. However,, I blew them out with the air hose and there seemed to be no water. I was puzzled? Now I know if it is under the front seat I was in the wrong place drying!!! THANK YOU !! I will check under there tomorrow and make sure all is dry and connections are clean and remove any moisture. Do you reccomend any type of elictrical connector grease, lube etc.? Kevin
