My new DICE Silverline has been working flawlessly until today. When I unplugged just a few minutes ago to bring it in to sync with iTunes my iPod is showing the "Dice Electronics" logo and "OK to Disconnect" even though I am sitting in my house with it, LOL.

iTunes will not recognize my iPod nor even say that one is connected when I run diagnostics. I tried to restore the iPod with the center and bottom buttons on the click wheel, which is SOP and no dice ... hah pun there :D

If i take the iPod back to my Prius (Ema) it shows that it is "Attached" under text in the MFD but nothing else. No track, playlists, artists, etc... if you unplug it shows "Detached" on the MFD but still shows the DICE screen on the iPod itself. DICE is set to SAT mode.

    HELP!?!? Any ideas here?

That happens to me most of the time. I just reset the iPod and things seem to be okay again.

    Dumas,

    Thanks for the help.

The iPod actually couldn't be reset or restored. I first had to switch it to "Disk Mode" then do a restore through iTunes as it stated that the iPod was corrupted. Then finally I was able to re-sync the iPod with iTunes and all appears to be well.

Apparently the DICE has a problem with being unplugged within close proximity to powering down the Prius.

Word to the wise to all other DICE users out there. Either unplug the DICE from the cable BEFORE you turn your car off. OR wait until the screen goes blank after powerign down, heck I'd give it an extra 10-15 seconds to play it safe.

Personally I always plan on unplugging BEFORE turning the car off from this point in time.

    Later,
    Barr

Now that's scary. Have you contacted DICE support about it?
