2005 Prius in At-Fault Rear-End Accident

    This is a cold thread now, but I bet they totalled it(Which voids all warranties) and that it went to a body shop who patched it up and resold it with a salvage title. There's a lot of cars like this for sale in California, recovered from relatively minor impacts and thousands under the market value of a "whole" car. If you are thinking of buying one of these remember; they have no more Toyota warranty, however few the miles on the odo.

    1. The car must be powered to see the mileage. So it depends if the systems will even come on at this point. There is probably a special way for Toyota personnel to do this if the car can't be powered by the usual means.

    2. The police report may have the mileage, assuming the car could be powered right after the accident.

    The combo meter (odo gauge) should come on in IG-ON, so you could use an external jumper battery to power it if the normal 12v is out of juice.
