    Hello everyone.

Has anyone installed an iPod2Car in their very own 2003 Prius? If so tell me how you did it.

I'm reading the general instructions for installation and it's exactly what it is, "general instructions." -Not much help: not very specific. -I popped my CD player out and there is only one cable (what looks like it's own harness) and a ground cable. No extra port to plug in my PXHTY1 Toyota harness (what came with the iPod2Car).

As I follow my CD Player's cable (what looks like it's own harness), I notice it splits in two. Each port that it is connected to does not appear to even have a spare one to plug my PXHTY1 Toyota harness.

Looking at the manual it appears that I may need the PXHTY2 Toyota harness. I'm assuming it's a splitter.

So for those who have the same vehicle:

    1. I'm I on the right track?
    2. Is this iPod2Car even compatible?
    3. Will I have to give up my CD player to add the iPod2Car?
    4. What is the PXHTY2? Is it a splitter?
    5. One tech support I spoke to says I may need a PXHTY3? Is he right?
    6. Am I wasting my time?

Your help will be well appreciated. :(

I don't have the same car as you, but the iPod2Car, VAIS and DICE should all work. The 2003 Prius had a larger 12 Pin Cable so you should need this cable:

All these devices emulate a CD Changer and should not conflict with your built in player. The Vais can also emulate a MD Changer.

So you're saying that the PXHTY2 or 3 is not going to work for me?
Man... what a learning experience this has been so far.

    Here's the PXHTY2, then the PXHTY3:

    I'm confused as well
2004 Prius with radio and CD player

    NO CHANGER

    I have the Ipod2car gizmo that comes with PXHHD1, a PXHCH2 and a PXHTY3

How do I get to the back of the radio if that is where I have to go to plug in the PXHTY3? The PXHTY3 is the cable to use right. It has a number of configured junctions. I just use one correct?

After I remove the glove compartment can I access the back of the radio. I know there's suppose to be a bunch of cables there. Or, does one of these cables possibly have a junction the PXHTY3 fits into?

I might have to cut the green wires in the PXHTY3?

Any insight to this installation would help

    thank you
