Mine was pretty pricey, I think $3600. I had a custom job in which they did three-tone leather, which they had never done before, and I didn't like their stock version of "bisque" so they had to get a color I felt matched the interior better.

Super cheap and easy mod. Bought the same mat at Walmart for $9.18. Took 30 minutes to cut and install. I didn't really have to measure, carpet is pliable enough to place it down and fold it along the desired line, crimp and cut it. Thanks, a priori:D

Thanks for letting me know it worked for you, too.

Another solution is to turn over the mat thats already there. The back side is black rubber so works in a pinch.

A very nice option, but only if your Prius came with a cargo mat.

What mat did you have in your car? Do you have a photo?

Away from home and using dial up, UGH. I'll try this again, sorry if it is a dup. The mats were added by the dealer to my base #1 option. The mats came together with a cargo net and first aid kit. I saw that as an accessory option on the toyota web site and figured why not as I was going to need mats anyway and they were already there. The net I don't need and a first aid kit is already a standard in my world. The salesman actually was the one that showed me the rubber on the back and suggested I could turn it over if wanting more of a cargo type mat. Golf stuff stays put on the rubber and is easy to clean up grass and stuff.

    Eunurse,

I was washing and waxing my car today, so I took the liberty of taking the photos you were going to take.

Below are two pictures of the OEM Cargo Area Carpet Mat -- one with the carpet side up; another with the rubbery backside up.

Note that putting the rubbery backside up works, but the fit is not exact as the driver and passenger side wheel well areas are not identical.

The OEM Cargo Area Carpet Mat costs about $65 to $80 when purchased separately.

It's nice. But if it hadn't come with my car as part of an accessories package that I was stuck with, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I'm very fond of the $9 Home Depot solution.:)

EDIT: In case you're wondering, those two black straps you see are the velcro hook straps for my BumperBully bumper protector. I attached the velcro hook straps to the fuzzy built-in carpeting underneath the carpet mat.

Thanks for submitting the pics. You are correct the fit is not perfect as the side flaps are a bit different but in a pinch not bad. There are lots of others things I'd like to spend my money on so not having to pay for a different mat works for me.

Many thanks. Inspired by your write up I did something similar for my 2010 Prius. I used different pruduct from Lowes that was 3x5 and required no glueing.

I've used one of those in my Subaru station wagon for years. That mat is designed to hold onto debris as you walk across - the ridges hold all sorts of stuff (and it was pretty impossible to get the smell of wet dog out). If you find something without the ridges I think it'd be a great option. I was thinking used carpet squares - super durable, waterproof, and easier to clean than that mat.
