For people, whom just like me, are wanting to make fiberglass enclosures in the rear two storage holes (left and right of the car). I made some pictures with measurements.

Also of beneath the seat and such stuff.

They are located in this album over here : PriusChat Forums - Quindor's Album: Pre-build shots

Remember the measurments are in centimeters. Hopefully this saves someone some work!

I'll post more when I get further with an install. This prius was borrowed for a second test drive... Which it passed. ;) :D

Quindor, great pics. Gives me a much better idea of what I will have to work with. Been waiting 2+ months and should be picking up my ride Tuesday morning.

Wow, that's very soon!! I haven't even orderd the prius yet, waiting on my lease contract. But it shouldn't be too long from now.

Meanwhile, this guide Fiberglass subwoofer box - a tutorial might also interest you. I do not plan on building a box quite this big (I think I will settle for 2x 10" shallow. One on each side). I intend to fill up the little holes in the side of the trunk, and leave the normal trunk intact as it is.

Doing fiberglass research now.... because I've never built a box that way. Gonna be a lot of work... Oh well, enjoy! (p.s. if you are really interested Fiberglass Forums - Powered by vBulletin is absolutly fantastic!) :D

That is a nice little guide, thanks for posting the link!

One thing he didn't mention is what the volume of the finished box is?

My understanding is that you can get about 0.65 cubic feet of space in this configuration. I've read of others getting a little more box volume over on the left side cubby by extending the enclosure down into the little storage bin over on that side (on the right side the 12 volt battery is underneath, preventing you from going deeper on that side).
0.65 cubic feet will work for many 10" subs out there.

Wow..... that document is exactly what I have been looking for all this time. He describes EXACTLY what I'm trying to make with the fiberglass.

    Great great find! :D :D

Also, this saves me from writing a tutorial about it too. His tutotial is quite good! :D I'd easily donate 5$ for it if he wishes! Good information is hard to find, especially on this information drenched internet now a days.

    Perfect, thanks again GeoGeek.

I have done a ton of custom work with alarms and stereo systems but never a glass box.

Definitely looking forward to this project.
