We have a 2006 Prius Package 8. Installed Coastal Tech LockPick shorlty after purchase 2 years ago. - Last night came home, GPS working OK. This morning, turned the car on and on the map screen this error: "A Program cannot be read. Please consult to a dealer. (then numerous Japanese characters)" - All other screens: Info - Consumption - Economy - Telephone - Audio - Radio - are working OK. - I have taken the Map CD out and back in, checked all connections under the seat - Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions please. - Bill, Nashville TN

This sounds like a failure to read the map DVD. You mentioned removing the DVD. Did the disk look clean?

My first guess is that the DVD reader has packed it in.

I received this message after a jump start to my auxilliary battery.
Now the navigation won't work and I have lost several other ikons.
I removed the DVD and reinserted as recommended by another user but it didn't work.
Any other suggestions? I suspect it is out of warranty and I have heard they are very expensive.

I would also try unhooking the negative terminal on the 12 volt battery, waiting 5-10 minutes and hooking it back up. You will lose all your radio presents, clock time and the auto widow will need to be reset, but this does force the DVD to reboot from scratch. Worth a try...
