I don't think it would hurt. Most of the anxious waiting list folks like me read every post in the Support Group looking for hints of how long it will be so that group should have seen it. On the other hand that post plus three more with get that Junior Member tag off your posts and you can become a full fledged Member here on PC.:):D:)

By the way does Wintrop College still have those metal covered sliding boards they called fire escapes?

    Folks -

The time has come where I will no longer be able to stay on this thread. It is a sad day, indeed...

No, wait! It's a happy day! My '08 Spectra Blue Mica has been delivered to the dealer and awaits my check. I'll be picking it up mid-day.

Thanks for all the support. It's truly good to know that we're not alone.

BTW - I put down a deposit on June 12... 2008. Evidently, my dealer did something to put the car in my hands a bit early; I expected to get an 09.

    Best to all,
    Rob

i have been on the list since 5/28 awaiting a touring model package #3 or 6, SPM red or seaside pearl, i have gotten a lot of calls for nontouring cars and one offer for a silver touring which i declined. the salesman called this week and says he has a touring seaside pearl #3 "with my name on it" expected delivery 9/9 , not getting too excited just yet though.

Congratulations! But that's no reason not to visit once in awhile to give those on the list some encouragement or advice. Anyway, good luck and hope to see you on the other threads if not here.

New member here. Have read alot of these pages and now I have to get on the support band wagon. I have only been waiting for 2 weeks one place and 1 week another. I was told 3 month wait for an 09. They said no 08's left. My question is this------
Does anyone have an 09 yet or do I understand they wont be here until middle of Sept. What I am unclear about --- does that mean in someone's garage or just at a port. Anyone know more info about the 09's?

2009's will have $500 MSRP increase on all trims. I have a dealer printout for an 09 Prius, Spectra Blue, package 5 with floor mats, cargo mat...

    VIN# JTDKB2OU697818807 (bolded 9 means 2009)

    MSRP - $ 27,574 (this is up $500 from 2008)

09's will have same colors, options as 08. I hope they don't can (do away with) package 4 which is apparently already rare. Package 3 is gone in this area.

I'm pleased but surprised that they held it to $500.00 with the devaluation of the U.S. dollar.

My salesman called me the other day to see how we were doing etc, and I asked him what number we are in line for a Pri (our allotment #) and he said with fair certainty that we were in the lower 50ies.. is this good or bad? I miss my car :( I felt I'd rather be in the lower 50ies than the 129th person. ergh

I heard from my salesman last week and it looks like if I'm a good girl and eat all my vegatables....I should have my Prius in about 4-6 weeks.

Then I will be doing my happy dance!!!!!!

Well after waiting since May 20, I picked up my Pirus last night. It was my 2nd choice for color (wanted Mag. Grey) but it had all the other options I wanted. 2008 Silver Touring w/ package 6. I also added the XM, accent strip and interior lights. The lights was not what I thought it would be. It's a seperate switch under the console! I love it and wanted to tell all who is waiting that it will be worth it!!

My salesman just called and said my car is there!!! Hard to believe. I put my deposit down and got on the list on July 8. They said two months, later they said 3. A week ago I called him and he said it was freight status but I didn't ask for a VIN and didn't know whether to believe him. At that time he said it usually takes a month from there. He is waiting for paper work which should arrive by tomorrow morning and I will go in and make arrangements tomorrow morning. Hopefully there will be no bad surprises at this point. I am so excited I can hardly believe it.

The funny thing is next week I am having my driveway ripped up and rebuilt to make a nice place for my new car. Instead the poor thing will spend a few days on my lawn while the driveway cures.

Depends on your dealer, How many cars they get in, how many people in front of you want the same Model/Package you want, etc, etc.

In my Case - When i got the call that i was like 50 (after 2 months on the list) - I dident have to wait long. Less than a week after that - I had a Vin # and a delivery date 4 weeks later... But my Dealer is one of the higher volume ones i know of and i wanted a simple package 2 that im sure they get a ton of...

Waiting list? No need to wait. Just the other day, the Toyota Dealership at Foothill Blvd & Rosemead, there in Pasadena (California)? Driving by, out the corner of my eye I saw dozens of Pruis Hybrids on the lot, in stock.

Have a look-see if & when you find time:

    New-Inventory Toyota-of-Pasadena PASADENA CA

See if they have what you like. Then, go to your local dealership, contact the fleet manager, and work a dealer trade.

Met my Prius today. It was ordered on July 8. It is silver, my second choice color. I enjoyed my first test drive.

But my car arrived late yesterday. CT registries closed at noon today for a long weekend. It was impossible to get the paperwork done and a runner from southern MA to a registry in CT in time. So my new car will not be mine till Tuesday afternoon. That gives me more time to clean out my present car and get my head in order. But it is hard to wait. I keep telling myself that it is sooner than I expected the car and that it arrived in time for the CT sales tax exemption that expires the end of Sept.
