I'm now off the list. Salesman called me yesterday and said they might have a black with package 2 available. He had to check but it looked like the financing fell through for somebody. I really wanted a package 3 or 4 but after reading on here they are a rare breed these days I said sure. I stopped by the dealership at 5:00 and by 6:00 I was driving off the lot with my New Black Prius. There are some options I wanted in the package 3 or 4, but hope I can find after market to fill the gap. After driving a seven year old 4x4 with over 100K miles, this thing is a dream.. I still have lots to learn about my new car, but figure I can come here to the experts. When I have time I'll post a photo or two.
I'll be watching this thread to see how things go for everyone else.

When you all get your cars could you tell use if it is an 08' or '09. I am on the list for an 09' so I would love to see when it changes over to mostly 09's. Thanks

It seems to depend on which region your in. West Coasters seem to starting to get 09s while the East Coast (and my Southeastern Region) are still getting 08s. I'm going to be watching Thursday's allocation list to see if any 09s appear. It should switch over any time now.

Yes, you did ask me this, too. I do have it in my profile at the far left. I think most folks on here, once they get theirs, will set it up on the far left. Just a hint!;)

The profile area doesn't go up to 09'. It stops at 08'. I am hoping the forum powers that be will change that soon so I won't be a nuisance asking.

I found out today that my Seaside Pearl #2 2009 is in this last week's allocation. I put down my deposit 25Jul and they said that between shipping time and prepping I should have it in 3 weeks. Fortunately Portland is the regional port so they only truck it across town rather than more elaborate travel to reach the dealer.

My 09 arrived into Milpitas, CA dealership Tuesday evening 8/26. The door sill tag notes manufacturing date of 08/08.

It's been posted before, but there are no changes to the '09s, except a $500 increase in price.

Yes I have seen those, but in a rare moment of optimism I was hoping for a surprise.

Ebay formalizes free car advertising / bait and switch

From an ebay announcement today. Note some sellers have already had the option of listing cars that they don't sell at no cost. Which makes it effectively free advertising to find potential customers.

No Insertion Fee on Your First 4 Vehicles...
eBay Motors is eliminating Insertion Fees on the first four vehicles you list in a 12 month period. Starting with the fifth vehicle, the fee is $20 (50% less than it was under the old plan). And after 12 months, you go back to "first four" pricing.
Only pay if you are successful...
If you are successful, a $125 Successful Listing Fee is charged.
In short, we only succeed when you succeed.
    Reason for the new pricing
Extensive tests earlier this year showed sellers greatly prefer this fee structure. And they proved it by listing more vehicles. Clearly, a more active market means more buyers and more successful listings.
    To find out more...
And start planning your next vehicle sale; see all the new pricing details here.
If you're like the folks who participated in our tests, I'm sure you'll find Zero Insertion Fee pricing very attractive when you list your vehicle. I look forward to your continued success

Has anyone else noticed that they started out thinking. I dont care about the wait. I dont need a car right now.
To feeling impatient even after only waiting one month!
I really think reading this website has made me excited but then impatient.
It is going to be really hard to wait 2 more months!

I just heard that my '09 is on the train from Portland to Chicago and that it will be here in the next few days after a ride on a truck from Chicago to Michigan. I have been waiting for this Option 6 car for about three months. The dealer told me my wait might be shorter than most folks because I wanted an option 6 car and most people specified lower priced models. Some folks on the list have been waiting almost 6 months, but these are the ones that wanted lower priced cars in a specific color. I was fairly open to color and will end up with an '09 with option 6 in Barcelona red which will be fine with me. Good luck all.

I was on a waiting list with Route 22 Toyota, NJ since May 08. Yesterday, when I called the dealer check status, the sales person said they had a few in stock and asked me to come and decide. I went to the dealership and it did not take too long to realize that I was being set for the classic bait and switch. The dealer showed me a Pkg#6 and offered it for several thousands over msrp. I politely declined and asked about the status of my allotment. I was told that the wait would be indefinite now. I then asked back for my deposit and the dealer agreed and refunded. In hind sight, I found that this dealership was sued a few years back by the state for fraudulent sales and leasing practices. I am back to square one again, wishing I had done some due diligence before. I would appreciate greatly any other dealer recommendations in NJ from this forum.

AndyG, sorry to hear that . If you try some searches here on PC I think I remember some good posts re: dealers in your Region. If not, and the wait may be long, and I'm not a member, but I've read posts where members say that they have bought their Prius through COSTCO with no hassle and were very satisfied. Don't know. Just trying to help.
