    Hi Everyone!

I'm really in a new kind of hell with 2 new 3G iPhones and our 2008 Prius.

    History:
Our 2 Razr phones (identical) both paired great, once I got the hang of it. With the new iPhones:
    1) my phone paired up perfectly and works fine.
    2) his won't pair - and no, there is nothing wrong with his phone. It has to be me that is the trouble... the car screen keeps asking me to input a passkey, but there is nowhere on the phone that prompts for that - the wheel just keeps spinning searching for device. The only device that the phone "finds" is my other phone, even if that phone is turned off!

Where/how do you enter the passkey - and please don't tell me to just type it in the phone keypad, because it doesn't work. It either just sits there (as if you haven't dialed all the numbers for an outgoing call) or you can hit "enter" and then it tries to dial a 4-digit number that of course, doesn't work.

I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE who has actually paired a couple of iPhones with their Prius. Again, doing one phone is no problem... 2 phones is where I'm stumped.

Thanks for listening to me whimper and bitch about this... it's just sooo maddening, know what I mean?

    SOLUTION:

I figured it out, but it makes zero sense to me! When my hubby's phone is searching for devices, the only one that showed up was my iPhone, which wasn't even in the car, or turned on inside the house, for that matter. Just the same, I touched the pad on the box that identified MY PHONE device that his found, and the next iPhone screen asked me to input the passkey. I entered the same one I'd used for my own phone. WHAM, it worked. His phone, under his name now shows as a second phone option under the Prius car screen "select telephone". It works, and mine works - if I switch devices of course...

So for anyone trying to sync up multiple iPhones (the new 3G) this method works, though again, I don't get why entering his phone via my cell phone's gateway should work. It isn't as though it really paired to another cell phone. Whatever... hope this helps someone else...

This really makes me made because I can seek my phones bluetooth light flickering on my phone but it always says connection failed:clock:

I had trouble with the Razr syncing at first too, but once I got both phones installed, they worked great. I just had to switch which phone I was asking the car to sync with via the Prius screen.

Don't give up... but also, forget the dealership... they are zero help w/this kind of topic, unless you get a person there with the same set up on their own personal car...

Check other threads specific to the Razr... as the solution for you will probably be different than what this thread's focus on the new iPhone.

Personally, I'd erase both phones from your car then start over, following the thread here specific to the Razr phones, as each brand has it's own little funky issues.

If all else fails, go back to your phone company and switch phones if it matters to you to use the car system a great deal... I've talked with one other iPhone person this morning, and they tried my technique stated above and it worked for them too. You might consider iphones...

    Good luck,
    Madeleine

WWJD08You did remember that you have to switch between the phones on the Prius?
I usually shut off the car, to disengage phone 1 and start car and change to phone 2- On the screen, Info, Telephone, Settings, move down to Telephone Selection (you cannot change the phone selection when you are MOVING! You must be stopped).

Here is a good how-to- to swtich between 2 phones. A pain but we have learned..

One other thought... re: other phones (but I do hope to keep this thread about the iPhone in general) I recall turning off my bluetooth on the phone and then turning it on once I asked the Prius to find another device. I recall that helped. ??
