Has anyone seen the 09 Prius brochure, they show under accessories an Ipod interface kit with a picture of an Ipod touch and a cable. Has anyone heard anything about this??

    Hi there!

I picked up my new Prius yesterday, and I had arrange dealer fit of the iPod Integration Kit when I placed the order for the car.

It consists of a black lead which passes through a grommet in the side of the upper glove compartment which fits into the bottom of the iPod. I've used mine with both a iPod Nano Video and an iPod Nano 2G.

The iPod appears on the Audio screen as a (second, in my case) CD Autochanger, with Disk 1 being all the tracks which are not part of playlists, and Disk 2 being the OnTheGo playlist. I assume that subsequent playlists would appear as subsequent disks.

I have not seen any track names (neither have I on CDs, come to mention it) which is a tad inconvenient - although the iPod does display a pretty Toyota icon and the current track name when connected.

    No instructions supplied, I'm afraid...

What I haven't yet established (yet) is if the socket in the bottom of the centre console still works.

Hope this is of some assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Jonathan

    $325!

    And only the track name?

Does it allow you to go 'back' through the menu? For instance, if you are listening to a song, can you go back to the album list, then back to the artists' albums listing, then back to all artists listing?

On my old Alpine system you couldn't do that. Once you were playing a song, you had to go back to the total artists lists. That sucked when all you wanted to do was go back and select a specific song on an album, or go select another album by the same artist.

You dont even get the track name with it... no artists, no tracks, no album info, no playlist info. You just get "CD X Track X", its pretty bad... I was expecting to atleast have it show artist and track info.

Update: They may have installed the wrong part, I'm investigating... Ill keep you guys updated.

    Update #2:

Ok so it turns out after doing a little research when the car came into port they installed the wrong kit... So, everyone ignore everything I have said about the iPod interface kit thus far... The unit I have installed is Part # 00016-00111 this SHOULD be part # PT545-00082. These should work completely different, the one I have installed is junk and runs through the CD changer, the other runs through the satelite radio... it may or may not do all the things its supposed to do like track info and such. Im going to email and call my sales guy and have them swapped. Sorry guys
